We murdered that pig Salt upon wounds and I took his helmet for showcase. Me and Joshua parted ways.

Not at all. He's awesome and good. The religous stuff aside.
He's a changed man, and he should'nt be killed.

He's serious opposition to anything caesers legion or white legs.

And also one of the most intimidating good npcs in games, lol.

When you first meet him it's like, so many guns... as he loads a never ending pile of pistols, lol.

In my Desert Ranger play-through, I didn't kill him. I did what you did YM=MB, I had him execute Salt-Upon-Wounds and then we parted ways. I thought that was the best course of action for a Desert Ranger, with the thought process being:

"Salt-Upon-Wounds preyed on the weak, so he needed to die. Joshua on the other hand is struggling with his own twisted perception of the world and dealing with his cruel nature, but for now he's helping two decent tribes protect themselves so I'll leave him to his own devices without necessarily "allying" myself with him."

That logic seemed pretty Desert Ranger-ish to me.
