Should I pick them up?

So I liked Fallout 3 a lot and I know it differs a lot from the original series but I am considering purchasing all three off of interplay's website for the small sum of $14.99. Price isn't really that big of an issue but I don't want to waste money on a game that I'm not really going to play. I'm not a big RPG guy Fallout 3 is probably the most RPG-ish title that I've played and liked (besides KOTOR) so I'm not sure if I'll appreciate the gameplay or the graphics for that matter. Please sell me on it, or convince me that its not for me. Thanks.

Easy Solution - FO1 on Gametap is free last time I checked... Whilst I wouldnt recommend playing the gametap versions long term, as they aren't based on the most recent patched version, its a great way to test the water and see if its for you.

My first inclination is to say "don't bother" but my second inclination is to say "read the article that's linked in my signature".

For you ? I'd say no. Would end up being a waste of your time and money.

-You probably won't like the graphics. Isometric view, tileset graphics.
-The roleplay aspect of it involves substantially more impact form stats in game. Dialogue choices change and so do your options. You can't be good at everything, and you have to accept that.
-You must make moral decisions throughout the game, and your actions have limited impact on the game world. Quests open and close base on your decisions.
-Combat is turn based, with each character waiting it's turn to fire and/or move. Each character will have a number of action points to spend on shooting, moving, getting into inventory, reloading. When those point are gone, that character's move is over. You direct them to move or to shoot at which target, then they do it. The characters that travel with you are about as smart as Dogmeat in this game.

If this sounds interesting, go ahead and buy them. They are good games.

Given the time gap. graphics are obviously old.

However, much better dialogue. Much better main quest. Higher replayability value. Much funnier. More inteligent.
