Should Skyrim have its own Forums?

Post » Sun Nov 27, 2016 5:59 am

Dear Members

How many would like these Forums as they are now to remain as the Official Bethesda Skyrim Forums ........only devoted to one game ...........Skyrim

Close everything else down and move all other games to the new Bet site and just leave the Skyrim part opened here? ....especially since its got the traffic to stand on its own?

yes it would give moderators double the work looking after 2 sites ........... but there is a saying "if it aint broke, don't fix it"

Skyrim has its fan base and a home right now.

your thoughts? .......would you like Skyrim to stay here?

Understands that this will never happen now that the new Bet site has opened, but it would be nice to know what you think?

I'd like all of these Elder Scrolls forums to stay open.

Skyrim will have its own forum.

There will be one official Skyrim forum on the new site eventually, and there's no reason it can't be the same as this one.

But what you're suggesting will never happen.

Anyone is allowed to create their own fan forums for Skyrim if they want to, so go for it.

This. Don't see why you'd close Morrowind and Oblivion sections, as they have a dedicated group of people that are still active there.

Problem is, from what I've seen it looks like a good portion of people from here don't plan to migrate over there. :P

For me, it will depend on what the "final version" of the new forum is. Their first attempt was pitiful, but its replacement looks like it has potential.

First version was definitely horrible, but I have to admit I haven't yet checked out the new forum, didn't really care, didn't even think about it. Since your post now I got slightly curious, so I guess I'll go check it out now. Hopefully it isn't anything like the confusing mess the first version was.

I'm not very active over there because you can't stop following individual threads. As it is, I seem to be forever stuck getting notifications in the 'Forum Feedback' topic over there because I made the mistake of posting in it.

You can disable that.

Yes, I can disable all notifications for all threads, including the ones I DO want to follow. But unless there has been some recent change I'm unaware of, there is no way to specifically stop following one thread while continuing to follow others.

I believe you have an option within the thread to unfollow. I think I saw that until I saw the option to disable all notifications.

It's leagues better than the old one. Just runs so much smoother and looks waaay better. And it still gives some of the added functionality that the first attempt had, but in a much prettier package that is a delight to unwrap.

I am not finding it better. I am finding it about the same and maybe slightly worse.
