Should Skyrim have a Multiplayer: Arena?

Post » Sun May 29, 2011 12:06 am

I doubt if Bethesda are going to make this game online I dont know, but I thought it would be pretty cool to give players the option to be able to visit an "Online Arena" that is seperate to the game.

Here you could fight with or against your freinds and even earn rewards that could be used in the game, what do you think?

I would like a one-on-one arena type thing. It wouldn't really work for PC's though cause modding would mess up any matching system put in place.

I doubt there will ever be something like that.

No, I don't like this idea. I want Tes as single player as possible.

My comment from another Thread like this.

The Elder Scrolls is like a good book, and should be a bit more personal. If they ever do a Multiplayer game or an MMO style game in the future, it needs to be separated from a single player release to maximize the experience. I also think It would need to be focused on a group scaled conflict or puzzle, something much like what Myst Online tried to do, but with combat incorporated into it. An Arena MP game does sound fun, but I think it just doesn't fit with what the elder scrolls is trying to do, not to say I wouldn't play a game like that, but again the elder scrolls should be personal or more about the single player experience.

Didn't a mod make an official multiplayer thread so these wouldn't be posted?

No single player rewards.

As long as multiplayer stays inside the arena and doesn't affect the single player game I have no problems with it.

Definitely no PvP, although in future games I might like to see some friendly co-op.

Besides, you're the last Dovahkiin. To allow other Dovahkiin in the universe would render the main plot totally moot.

I think a quick multiplayer arena would be neat, but I don't think it should be anything more than that. The console servers will be the most "civilized" because of the lack of mods.

Yep. http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1162506-official-discussion-of-multiplayerco-op-in-skyrim/

And no to every possible permutation of multiplayer, co-op, "multiplayer: arena" etc.

Especially looking at what Ubisoft did to Brotherhood.
They focused so much on multiplayer (Which isn't even that fun, imo) that the story line was pretty short.

Some games aren't meant to have multiplayer. Hopefully Bethesda already sees this and Ubisoft comes to understand this before the next AC game.

It might be a cool idea but they would have to completely re-invent the game
