I think you as a newbie to this forum should read the rules and piss off with this multiplayer topic. TES is always and WILL be singleplayer. Want your MP fix? Go CoD.

Please elaborate.

What would multiplayer in a game like Skyrim consist of?

I don't think this is going to be a popular suggestion unless you can explain what you have in mind.

800 x [censored] no.

I want mp, some sort of co-op, not mmo based. No PvP at all. Just to see players around time, instead of useless NPCs have real players, making the world appear a hundred more times real.

Go to the Elder Scrolls Series for MP but to answer this question: NO!

Ruins fun and puts less time into quests for it.

Doing a co-op would be fun IMO, but not really feasible.
You'll have to think about changing the entire gameworld to make sure its suitable for Co-op without steamrolling the content.

And because Mods are a time-honoured tradition in the TES series, having 2 people co-op together with exactly the same mods
would be a severe technical difficulty itself.

Personally I hope TES remains exclusively as a single player RPG, no co-op, NO MMORPG PLS!
I'll look for my co-op fix in other games.

A lot of things would not be possible anymore if the game had a multiplayer option, like the perks where time slows down for a while or simply stopping time while bringing up the inventory/map.

The reason why future Elder Scrolls game should not go multiplayer or MMO is because extra development have to be spent on the multiplayer aspect. It is not a simple matter of just copy pasting someone else into someone else's world, and then letting 2 people play together.

And you think streamlining axes, maces and swords into a single one-handed skill is bad? Imagine giving all of them the same swing speeds and stats. This is what has to be done in order to balance a game with multiplayer. Content will have to be designed for 2-4 people rather than one.

Too much time will be spent on online stuff, and aspects associated with online play like balancing, and less time will be spent on the incredible world of Elder Scrolls.

In other words, going multiplayer means future Elder Scrolls game will suffer in quality.

true, I was simply thinking about an option to search for players for dungeons, quests, etc, sorry for not elaborating on that before.

No.. I haven't seen any muliplayer games that don't come at a cost. So much time is spent on programming the mechanics of getting connectivity that the game usually suffers in all other aspects.

No thanks. I would prefer a far more polished single player game to any multiplayer game.

There are two reasons there isn't a very large fan group who wants multiplayer in TES:

1) It doesn't work with the way the game is laid out. It's been modded in before in Oblivion and, even when it worked properly, it wasn't fun.

2) The game would need to change at a fundamental level to make multiplayer viable. Things that make TES unique would need to be scrapped in favor of balance and repeatability.

Yes. AI being terrible as it is, it would be best to recruit people online for co-op missions and dungeons.

Id hate it to be online...
Turning it to online would completely ruin the game and turn it into one big online exploiting player fest

Multiplayer games should be their own separate entities and not something defiling the singleplayer games.

Yeah, like there was nothing in Sky that impacted quality.

Quality depends on how much money and effort a company is willing to put in a game. Selling 7 million copies of this game so far (probably more by now) should allow for plenty of quality - especially given the amount of time between release dates of the TES games.
