Should Skyrim have a Under Water City of a Underwater Race?

Post » Tue Aug 02, 2011 7:43 am

Maybe there could be some kind of Quest that gives users water breathing capabilities that enables you to visit these underwater culture/creatures. I also felt Oblivion did not do enough with the lakes, rivers and oceans. They could live in a under water Cave deep deep down on the ocean floor.

I think this could be much more fleshed out if put out as dlc. I don't think id like to see it in game though.

Irregular, good to see a Doctor Who fan.

I agree. I think a little quest or something would not do enough justice. But I think a DLC or even an expansion would allow you immerse yourself into the story and lore of the underwater race/city.

Maybe remnants of an ancient race that are ancestors to the argonians or something. That would be pretty cool. Just a thought.

Well the Devs could make it fit in the story some how. I just wished they would add more life and interesting items underwater

Water is the usually the ugliest thing on engines... especially underwater environments as seen in Oblivion and they create terribad screen tearing!!!!!!!!

They definitely need to do more with underwater content. I didn't play Morrowind much but any time I saw water in Oblivion I cringed. It was just so bland and boring. Not being able to see anything further than two inches in front of you when you're underwater doesn't help much either. An underwater city/questline would be cool, probably best for DLC. Is there even a body of water in Skyrim that's large enough to do that in?

I can see an old city that sunk into the ocean to make sense. Not really a race of underwater people.

Apparently the draughs are smart. I doubt they would let you in a city like this though.

Maormer are islanders, they don't live underwater.

Pretty much the only sentient marine races are the Druegh and the Sload, both of which spend at least part of their lives on land anyway. The water off the north coast of Skyrim is literally freezing cold in most places. It really wouldn't fit.

How about you wait for Summerset isle or Valenwood...you know for it to make sense.....and Vivec roflstomped the Dreugh Kingdom so no, no Drueghs especially not in freaking frigid waters.....

Underwater/sunken city yes but underwater race no. City would be great but it would be a normal sunken city of some civilization. There should be more stuff underwater in general. Caves, ruins, shipwrecks, more types of fish etc. An additional underwater race wouldnt fit the lore.

I have no clue about Skrim's geography, so I voted YES!

Water in the past two games was never really developed, and it'd get back to a completely alien feel that was in Morrowind :)

I don't know how how well it would fit lore, but there is actually a way an underwater city could be populated: People with constant water breathing enchantments on clothes/armour!

Not a bad DLC idea. I don't see the need for a new race though. Argonians could live there.
