Should strippers be in next fallout

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 2:14 pm

Because Beth maybe wanted to work on TES, so they asked the guys who worked on the original Fallout games to make a sequel to them? Why you ask?
It just struck my mind, since we were talking about how lazy Beth was. Well Obs did a good job, but Enclave should have been a little more involved if you ask me :(

No. Leave some work for modders. Consider the number of porm mods around and really, there is no need to put any six in the base game.
(As long as it is possible to add them with mods so we can choose what we like).
What I don't really understand is why you can play a slaver but not a proxenet. And should cigarettes and alcool be banned from future games too just for rating purpose ?

You mean some nudity could be worse than cannibalism and slavery ? We both live in very liberal countries when it comes to six, but obviously it is not the same in the rest of the world. I know slavery exist in some countries where any nudity is strictly forbidden and I suppose the people in said countries buy much more copies of the game than in our countries so it is more important to please them than us, it is the only reason I can imagine.
But cannibalism ????

Their media and their parents can't. It's just the way you raise people, society, government, media and also your own parents. It's like we swedes don't have any problem with cussing or nudity on TV since you get [censored]-tonnes of that uncensored and no one reacts because we don't deem it bad, but violence on the other hand...

No one knows what vajan ever says I wouldn't look to much into what he said.

American T.V can have violence just not swearing because then lazy parents would have to talk to their kids and we can't have that.

Bethesda, Strippers, does not compute. :bonk:

I wouldn't have a problem with the feature being in Fallout 4 but this is Beth and they are a bunch of babies who are too scared of angering people to put in a feature that adds more atmosphere.

Well technically New Vegas is one of Bethesda/Zenimax's games even though they didn't make it. They hired Obsidian to make it and they published it and they own the rights. So Bethesda would be on the hook if there was any uproar over the Strippers in Fallout New Vegas because Bethesda were the guys calling the shots. Obsidian had to run everything by them first. So this would mean that Bethesda is ok with strippers being in their games.

The strippers/hokers worked for the Gamorrah scene. If there is a location that calls for strippers, let there be strippers

This^ NV had the setting for strippers; I really don't see strippers being logically fitting to another game. However, that does not exclude prosttutes.

Id say no. I didnt find any propose for them in New Vegas other than target practice, same thing with the prosttutes. I can live without them, Bethesda can replace them with something better...

Plus if I wanted to see strippers, Id got down the street lol

Replace them with something better? Like what? Like paying a fully clothed woman to sleep next to you which is what Fallout 3 did. IMO that was pathetic. The game is rated M. In a wasteland with little law and order there would be prostitution and strippers. Prostitution has been around forever and it would take more than a global nuclear holocaust to put an end to it. They are there for RPG and atmosphere reasons.

If you can't find a propose for them other than target practics, then you aren't RPGing. You are just playing it as if it was a FPS.

Target practice..???
Like others said if they fit the locale why not... It might not be your cup of tea but at least Obsidian did understand that a game following FO2 could deal with advlt themes like drug runners, prostitution and strippers..

Edit: and everything Styles brought to the table.

What I mean is yea there is a place for them in NV right, real Vegas is filled with them but if there comes another fallout, I would rather see improved graphics, character customization, more wep/arm... Stuff like that, stuff I'll use rather that look at a black screen and listen to a girl scream. That's all I was getting at.

You sound as if you actually expect to see anything more then a black screen and the other character in the same position as if nothing happened as it has always been. How they look doesn't make a difference considering that, hell the Naughty-Nightwear is no less skimpy still thinking about the given result. It's their importance as characters that I care for. I fully support characters like Nova and overlook her perfession of choice. I fail to see your argument here.

I am not asking for nudity or porm. If the person is supposed to be a stripper or a prosttute then have that person look and act as one. Nova in Fallout 3 didn't even act like one. That is what Bethesda did with Fallout 3 they vaguely allude to a persons perfession or sixuality but they don't openly just say "this person is gay or this person is a prosttute." They don't want to risk upsetting all the parents that bought the game for their kids. Even though the game is rated M.

Those that don't want Strippers, prosttutes in the game seem to not care about having a realist world. "There wouldn't be prosttutes in a world with no law and order!" It is stupid to think such people wouldn't be in Fallout Universe. If the location calls for such people that have them, and have them be open about it.

Vegas isn't the only place in the world where there are strippers (and prosttutes). And there would be a lot more of them around towns and communities in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, selling themselves to survive. They would fit in anywhere the next game is set, not just another casino or Vegas-style setting, and it would make more sense to have them than not.

Nova isn't the typical ho. She doesn't act bubbly or ditzy. She doesn't even like it, she only does it for cash. Hearing out why is much more interesting then going in a room after wasting a few caps to see a dark screen. If I wanted that, I'd just turn the TV off. Much faster, more logical. Wouldn't you agree? Also, the point stands as you said it, they don't want Fox news all over them like mass effect and make the game AO or Banned over something so trivial and something a real gamer can live without. There should be a diversity of characters that are actually useful. Ho'd characters don't travel or actually do anything that progresses the journey. They talk to you and moments later you forget who they are once another quest or quest point pops up.

Nova is the village bicycle in Fallout 3. The only prosttute in the whole game. The game could have used alot more prosttutes, that way she wouldn't be the only one which gives a very negative impression at least in my books.

Edit: I do agree that there should be a story behind them. Fallout New Vegas has stories behind their prosttutes and strippers. They aren't there just for eye candy. There are even quests related to them.

Here is a good quest that involves prosttutes in Fallout New Vegas ==> http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Bye_Bye_Love and here is another ==> http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/The_White_Wash

IMO http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Joana has a much better story than Nova.
