Should suspensions be administered for false news tomorrow?

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 1:39 am

As I stated in the topic description, there were seemingly an overwhelming amount of "Fake News" on April Fool's Day last year.
The idea was funny 10 years ago, but not so much anymore.
It might even be funny if it were just one person doing it, but unfortunately, there could be upwards of 20 people who get this "novel" idea tomorrow, at which point, it just becomes annoying.
So, my question to you, is this:

Should punishment be administered to those who post ridiculous/fake news tomorrow? (I know some are upset because they had already planned on this "creative" idea..)

P.S. I put this in the DLC section because that's what most of the "news" is likely to be tomorrow.

Of course the situation could be remedied completely if they actually, finally, released some real news tomorrow..

You know what would be funny?

If that Fallout: Rage thing was real.

They have someone post it so everyone thinks it's fake, but the day after they go "April fools! It's real!".

Of course, I would burn several things down but it would still be funny in the end.

April Fool's day jokes will be fine. If the five 12 year olds who whine for news can't handle it they might aswell look elsewhere(Not to mention they shouldn't be on here in the first place. Unless their a Morrowind fan every other game is rated M)

Seriously though, you already know what day it is. It's easy. Just don't be an idiot and hype EVERY small tidbit as usually done.

Also Bethesda already posted a joke yesterday evening. The Shinji Mikami action figure thing.

Again, why yesterday?

In Japan it was April 1st already.

Of course not, a bit of lighthearted fun does not come amiss on the 1st, as long as people do not get carried away there will be no problems. :D

No, that's just ludicrous. I just grumble, hit them with my stick, then walk away to another thread. Let them have their fun.

Fraudulent news isn't an automatic warning the rest of the time, we aren't going to make the penalties harsher on April Fools.

Personally I get a kick out of taking fake news threads and making them legitimate :D
