Assuming you can afford it, a PC is superior to a console. The whole purpose of a console is to reduce the cost and make it more accessible.

Don't if its only for Skyrim. Do if you will regularly buy games for it. Simples

Pretty much this. The only downside to a PC is higher cost, and less games. (Since a lot are console exclusive, but it's a small percent) So if you have the money for a PC, there's not much downside left. Go for it.

I played Oblivion on xbox and obviously enjoyed it. But, i couldn't help myself from building my own computer for this game(and sc2) after seeing all the mods people get on pc. Although it is much more expensive i am very excited. All in all it cost $1,100 and the time to build it but it is able to run crysis 2 ON MAX SETTINGS!!!!!

Mods make the game infinitely more enjoyable, in my humble opinion. Because of them I still play Morrowind and Oblivion on my PC. This being said, I'll probably pick up a copy for the PC and a copy for the Xbox at launch.

You could do both, PC does have the advantage of Modding but who knows how the DRM is going to end up. The 360 version might be at the bottom of the totum pole but the previews of Skyrim so far have been showing off the 360 version and it's said that it looks gorgeous.

I have a high end PC with Oblivion and I also have an Xbox with Oblivion. Xbox version is superior by far for me. I can't play the PC version anymore its just clunky. The mouse and keyboard are very annoying to use (I am normally a PC gamer btw) and mods ruin the game for me. I find that every mod makes you slightly more powerful than before at least and thats without doing anything in game. It takes the immersion out of it when you find something that should be fixed and you add it into the game yourself or when you take something that you know does not belong and add it in (new races anyone? anime characters? ladies walking animation mods?).

I cant stand the console either. If I am about to die then I always turn on TGM (godmode) and when I have no lockpicks then I have to type "unlock" and then I get into a habit and it ruins the game.

IF you do get Skyrim for the PC then STAY THE [censored] AWAY from the command console. Trust me. Just don't press ~ ever.

I have to agree, only use the console if you have to deal with a possible gamebreaking issue.

I personally don't like the feeling of clicking to attack, it just doesn't feel like there's any weight behind it like a 360 controller. But the graphics and mods are awesome. Soooo, both.
