I'm sort of conflicted right now. My fallout game right now is in a glitched save and i either have the option to start all over, which puts me about twenty hours behind. I would have the opportunity to create a perfect character, or

i could start at a recent save which is probably ten hours back and risk another freeze. (project purity freeze)

or i could save up to buy new vegas?

any advice on what i should do? I've already got some really nice guns and i don't want to have to go through a grind, this is my first playthrough of fallout and i think i'm pretty good. i've learned everything i know from watching xcal on youtube.

What platform are you playing on and what exactly is the freeze you're experiencing?

I don't see any reason to dump the game in favor of saving up for New Vegas just because of a bum save. If you're enjoying playing Fallout 3, keep playing it. I would probably go back to the save ten hours prior and play from there.

I would also advise making frequent manual saves, turning off autosave and not overwriting old saves to avoid save corruptions. You never want to rely on only one or two saves in these games. They go south too easily.

I have over 200 saves. Years of Oblivion taught me theres never too many. I delete really old ones manually later. Bummer about that glitch tho

I would go back to the 10 hours ago save, reload and carry on .... saving like there's no tomorrow.

will do. hopefully it won't be too repetitive but it is only my first playthrough. i guess i can suffer a little grind.

WOAH WOAH WOAH! Fallout 3 is wayyyyyyy better then New Vegas! Sure, new vegas has more you can do, but that doesnt mean that it tops fallout 3! Also, if you do buy new vegas, that doesnt mean you would STOP playin fallout 3! And thats what i have to say about that! :thumbsup: opinion maybe, idk?

You have no saves newer than 10 hours old? No quick saves and no auto?

That's really living life on the edge for a Fallout player.

I find that most repeating glitches can be solved doing something slightly different, such as using a different door.
