Should the Ebony Warrior have lore?

Post » Sat Aug 23, 2014 11:42 am

Yes, I'm aware the Ebony Warrior exists solely as a metatextual joke in Skyrim. He's the character that has achieved level 83, done all the quests, and is bored with the game now. He's supposed to represent the time when the player can start over with a new character or leave the game. He's not actually a character IN the setting so much as a final bit of fanservice and challenge for super-high level PCs.

BE THAT AS IT MAY.

Would anyone be interested in him getting a history in future games? Like, say, a book called "The Ebony Warrior."?

One which explains who the hell he was?

What would be his past, in your opinion?

What has he done and accomplished?

A part of me wants him to be elaborated, especially if the next game is in Hammerfell, and have him possibly related to Ebonarm or some sword-singer, or a hero in the Hammerfell-Dominion war. Another part of me thinks he should be treated like the PC; that is, leave his life up to the imagination of the players.

I'd like an explanation, personally.

However, I don't think he should be TOO detailed either.

I'd like him to be a character in-universe, though.

Maybe hints he's a Shezzarine or avatar of Talos like Dragonborn.

Which, of course, would mean that he's sought out the one person in the world like himself to kill him.

I'm up for player induced explanations rather then anything solid.

It's also worth nothing that this isn't the first time we fought anhttp://www.uesp.net/wiki/Tribunal:Gaenor, so there's that.

A fragment of the Lorkhan oversoul armored in the blood of its whole, it seeks to be reunited with its oversoul in the only manner fitting.

I like to think that the Ebony Warrior is the Shezzarine of the Redguard who was instrumental in the defeat of the Thalmor in Hammerfall. However, the Ebony Warrior learned the power of the Thu'um from either a manifestation of Talos or a renegade Greybeard and became enamoured of the Nords religion. Suffering from post-traumatic stress, they decided they wanted death and turned to the only person in the world who might be able to deliver it.

I like to think the Ebony Warrior was head of the Hammerfall Fighters Guild, Hammerfall Mages' Guild, Hammerfall Thieves Guild, a Morag Tong leader, and a noted member of the Storyteller's College.

I relate him to Ebonarm, personally, but it's worth noting that Ebonarm is apparently an abandoned concept. In ESO, they cropped him out of From the Memory Stone of Makela Leki. Which was a real [censored] move, in my opinion.
