should the rapids wash you away?

I think it should depend on Strength and hand to hand..... lets say if you get pulled down.... you can slowly move to one side intill your on the shore....

No they won't, they'll complain even louder because them not looking perfectly photo-realistic makes the accurate physics all the more jarring and "ruins the immershun." :P

Some people would complain even if the graphic was better than the Avatar movie.
The spell effects look unnatural would probably be the best comment.

I think that rapids should take you away if you aren't strong enough, but you can push through if you have the strength.
yeah most likely based on Athletics or Skyrim equivalent of the skill.

I'd really really love this, finally no more swimming across rivers just for a shortcut- now you have to find a way across!

Unfortunately i really doubt it will be in the game..

Yes. I want to be pushed down a waterfall and crash to my death after not being careful and stepped into the rapids.

I hope so..

we should have to look for a bridge or step over the rocks, otherwise we get washed downstream :)

was this worth making a topic about? your damn right it was.

Supposedly the water affects your character, so it will sweep your character away.

Maybe if the rapids' flow has a strong enough effect, you could cast Water Walking and surf downstream? (Hey, you never know...)

Kinda like a salmon.

Eaten by a bear? ;)

I think I would wet myself if the forces of a river was actually capable of sweeping me off my feet (pardon the pun). There is a *lot* of potential force in water, and I nearly drowned myself as a kid as I was "pulled out to sea" by strong understream currents.

It's probably just an animated static, I wouldn't get your hopes up.

I know, but it would be nice if you could get your head smashed in on a rock due to super fast rapids. Would certainly spice up the traveling and combat a bit.

I know you're right, but I kinda like speculating. :P

Of course they should. Heretic (an old game from the 90's using Doom engine) had waterstreams that could push you down a ledge, don't tell me a game nearly 20 years later can't do the same.
