Should there be a lobby for multiplayer?

This is an absolute must in my opinion - I think the world has moved on from struggling without systems like this...

so does ZeniMax have a policy of no in house testing? Maybe its just cheaper if your customers do the testing.

Lets looks at this from a competition stand point, to be able to organize a 5 player team in a lobby, to set a party of 8 and organize the fire teams before hand would allow for greater access to playing with friends.to join a game simultaneously with your friends to guarantee that u will play on the same side. there is a need for it. without the support that the dedicated servers provide with steam the devs need to create that support for the 360/PS3

There gotta be a lobby yh, something similar to the KZ2 lobby for customisations etc. would be perfect.

Naw it doesnt need one, it was so awesome when I talked my Dad and 6 of my friends into getting this game and then last night when we all tried to play online together, we had to keep jumping in and out of games trying to find one with 8 spots. SD talked about the team work needed and lone wolves will not really be rewarded so why the heck did they not put in lobbies?

So do you or do you not want lobbies?

Lobby should help with many different aspects of Brink.
1. Invite friends better system.
I been playing the Xbox and have a small team with my friends, I have no complaint about the invites but it does get a drag to always have to re invite and go through all that and I think even though its not needed its just good to have a better chance to change gear last minute or choose on a mission/map
2. In my opion it seem fine to have to wait for other people instead of joining an already played match and I am willing to wait for a match to begin then to join a losing match

I agree however a lobby can be very useful to fill up games with real players before hand, instead of bots, allowing friends to join before game starts, etc... I dont remember what game it is, but it wouldnt be hard to not allow you to talk to the other team before the game starts, which avoids all trash talking and annoyance.

It seems that without a lobby its harder to get into a game that isnt full and invite your friends or beat the clock before others join.

Shadowrun had a basic lobby system like this, where you could lobby up with friends, chose your side (with or against each other), and character, and then in game the gaps were filled with bots until others joined. The host could also change the map and game type as needed. It worked well for how simple it was.

170 (number of yes votes) / 175 (total votes) = 97.15 percent rounded.

I'm Torn, the traditional sense of a Lobby is a bit outdated and cumbersome.

I'd be ok with allowing a bot game be a "lobby" if the host could migrate active players from that mission into a new one of their choice.... or something to that effect...

None the less you guys are right "something" needs to happen where we can "join or host this game-type with these members". I suppose I don't care how it's done, as long as it's done.

Please! Please! Please! A lobby patch would be amazing! So frustrating trying to play games, or multiplayer with friends. This is a much needed update! If possible to switch the rank option to auto off, instead of auto on. you should be able to choose not to play with people, not have to choose if you will play with people.

There definantly needs to be a lobby. I just tried getting into a game with a friend and I was on the opposite team.

This game shocked the hell out of me when I couldn't find any way to invite my friends in before a game so we could find one together. On top of the lag and not having a lobby system , i'm starting to heavily regretting buying this game.

Why on earth is it a no no?

I play with 7 other RL mates and teaming together has been quite frustrating. Even hosting a co-op game I have to invite during the cut scene or i'll have to do it during combat? Really?

If we join a dedicated server there's no guarantee we'll all get on and then it might be in the final seconds of a match.

At the least we need something like the basic L4D lobby where we can all get together, decide whether we'll be co-op or vs, have the game randomly assign teams if we want, and then start the map/ campaign from the beginning.

This has been the only thing I think the game lacks. Yes, it needs a little more polish on some things but setting up a game as team seems to have been left out altogether.

I do not agree with pre-game lobbies, but I would like a friend lobby with a matchmaking option or the option to choose a server and wait for an opening on either team, large enough for your team. It takes too long to get my friends into the same game as well as on the same team with me.
