Instead of using a ton of crapy inchantments or turning your brightness up just hit that anoying little rat with your torch.

It has been confirmed that they can be used as weapons to light up stuff, and even as minor blocking I think.

Or setting fire to the little sods would be OK as well.

Torches are cool hot.

I enjoyed their use for lighting in Oblivion dungeons. And skyrim, their use will even be greater.

However, when darkness threatens - Shirak!

I have a feeling I'm going to set my brightness a little lower for Skyrim so I can fully utilize the torch's new torchiness. You can be certain that I'll be whacking goblins upside the head with a torch when they come at me in the dark.

My apologies. I'm strictly keeping myself not in the know about certain things for SKYRIM to figure them out through the tutorial instead of being hailed upon with all the things which are featured. Gives more of a greater appeal to the game instead of being told beforehand. Has worked for every Bethesda title for decades in the past. The little I know about a title due to mechanics the more immersive it is when finding out about it in title. Unless if I've played a demo of it. More about wanting to figure it out, the manual and again in the tutorial. Otherwise it takes away the excitement and wonder when first playing. No barrages of information.

Bethesda Softworks was founded in 1986

"Bethesda Softworks has been a developer and publisher of interactive entertainment content for over two decades. Founded in 1986 by Christopher Weaver in Bethesda, Maryland and moved to Rockville, Maryland in 1990, the company has a long history of PC and console games."

DOOM and Quake were not made by Beth, they were made by id software, which is now owned by Zenimax, Beth's parent company.
