Should you always need Bloody Mess to blow someone to bits?

Post » Tue Dec 01, 2015 4:41 am

What if you nail someone directly with a mini-nuke, and all he loses is a limb since you don't have BM perk? Can we blow him to pieces without having the BM perk if you use a big enough explosive?

In previous games, you could have flying body parts without Bloody Mess. Just less often.

I found the perk to be kind of annoying after a while so I removed it (you can do that on the PC)

Think it should happen each time you reverse-pickpocket a grenade, they splatter all over. In FO3 and NV, all they lose is a leg when they die.

I feel like making a rank 2 of that perk would be a good idea. Like, it keeps the body intact, but blood and viscera just explode out of various orifices.

Liberty Prime had the Bloody Mess perk on his laser, so it's easy to add the effect in the GECK.

I shot a Raider in the face from about 10 feet away with a MISSILE LAUNCHER and his arm fell off. He flew about 5 feet backwards. It was weak. I was disappointed. I really think he should have looked like someone stuck a cherry bomb in a gore bag. Alas. I had not yet unlocked Bloody Mess. :(

I don't think you should need the perk. Without the perk it should be weapon dependent. Explosive weapons like grenades and rockets have a good chance to, the more powerful the explosion and the closer the enemy, the higher chance they get blown to bits. Rifles and stuff shouldn't be able to do it without the perk unless you dump a ridonkulous amount of ammo into the enemy all in a very short amount of time.

I would be fine with Bloody Mess being an effect that is standard on explosive weapons, cause it would make sense. But personaly i dont like it on my ordinary pee shooters. Now a AP sniper rifle of high caliber...... yes that could work with BM.

Yeah, that was what I was thinking. Maybe make direct hits with explosives automatically blow the enemy to bits, and then have some kind of distance vs. power thing determine whether their body explodes for indirect hits. Maybe the same could apply to guns, except with number of hits vs. power.

Me neither, that's why it best stay optional. Now they have to do something about people's heads popping off just like that. Kinda like in Fallout 3 where I decapitated the first raider I ran into.... with my BB gun.

Yes, we're all very much aware how superior a PC is over a console.

I agree, the perk gets annoying when you shoot someone with a bullet and he suddeny turns inside out and explodes into multiple organs and limbs, extremely immersion breaking.

Why would you skill for a ridiculous over the top exploding people perk, if it breaks your immersion?

LOL, the gaus rifle in NV has more ragdoll effect, my favorite is shooting of somebody's head with an sneak attack with an 10 mm pistol.

Should be a bit more logical, small arms do not generate body parts or at least very rarely, medium machine guns has an larger chance, swords and heavy guns do on often. explosives too, large explosives like mini nukes botlecap mines and simlar has an decent chance of bloody mess.

I usually skip that perk and choose something else instead of it.
