Shouldn't There Be Aedric Weapons and Armor?

Post » Sun Oct 09, 2011 6:46 am

So there are Daedric armor/weapons. Shouldn't there be Aedric as well? Like for example armor that represents each god? A dark dragonic armor with a dragon-head helmet should represent the Aedra Akatosh for example. A robe representing Julianos, the god of Wisdom and Logic should have shiny 'triangles' on it and provide a big boost to magicka. Those kind of things.

The 9 can't manifest themselves in our realm like the Daedra can.

I don't think there's a reason why they wouldn't have some armour.
I want some. c: Time to go to the Imperial Library.
Btw it's the eight divines now, they forbid the worship of Talos. :shakehead: Eight and One.

The Aedra don't seem to be as involved in the mortal world (Ironically) as the Daedra are. There are a couple of stints where we see them here and there, but despite being so widely worshiped, they are more mysterious than the Daedraic princes.

There aren't Aedra like there are Daedra. Before Nirn, there was no diference between Aedra and Daedra, Aedra is the name given to the spirits who gave parts of themselves to create the world while the Daedra is the name given to the spirits who didn't.

The Aedra, or the Nine Divines (now eight and one), expended themselves creating the mortal realms, according to lore. As such, they (rather ironically) can't interact with the mortal realms like the 16 (Now 15 that Jyggalag is dead?) were the 16 divinites that chose not to invest in the mortal realms, and created their planes of oblivion on which to resides. Basically, the Aedra are akin to the Daedra, it's just their position in the creation tale that's different.

So while you could consider Iron, Steel, Mithril, Dwarven, Glass, etc. as Aedric weapons, they can't manifest themselves into objects like the Daedric Princes can. :)
