It's a good idea. Better than just "click on the map and time passes and you're there".
This has an actual explanation, which is nice I think.
Thank you. That's exactly why I was thinking this would be a good idea.
Dragon Shouts would be a great way to fast travel. So long as you can only travel to major land marks and cities. But then you have normal magic anyway.
That's one way to do it.
only if the shout is the first one you learn, and right at the beginning. I don't want to play a third the way thru the main story just to fast travel
To be honest tho, without fast travel the game would get tedious real quick for most people
Yeah, it could be something you learn after you're freed, or made aware of your destiny, or whatever way to plan to have this adventure begin.
And I agree that it's tedious to not have FT. But maybe there could be a balance to it's use?
Actually, this makes a lot of sense.
I'm sure this is one of the first shouts you get from the graybeards once you get to the top of the mountain, so you can "travel down faster".
I would like it that the fast travel has a cool-down timer.
Yep.That sounds cool to learn it at the top of the mountain and then maybe they could have it so that you're trapped above, (think mountainside collapsed or something), and you can only get to ground level by Shouting to the bottom from where you have passed by before. That could serve as an introduction to this new power.
But you'd be for a cool down period, huh?
