Shouts Ruining My Game!

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 3:07 pm

Just kidding. Huehuehuehuehuehuehu.

In all seriousness, PLEASE Bethesda!!! Give me the trailer's "Fus Ro DAAH" for my in game unrelenting force shout. Its all I really want for The holidays. PREASE! :) I'll buy another copy of Skyrim! I already bought the CE too. That was mainly for the art book tho.

Shouts are as useless as the my little pony mods on nexus.

To each his own. I play with a little more poise. Coming from MMO's, I love my crowd control and the feel of controlling the entire fight. I love gathering a ton of enemies by running through halls frantically, then backing into a corner, fus ro dah, firestorm, profit. Feel like I'm playing a better dark age of camelot.

Plus there's nothing better than shouting a group bandits off of a cliff.

For me there's a problem with shouts not working when I press the button in combat.

The Thu'um = awesome gameplay mechanic and lore.

I agree that the trailer varsion of unrelenting force is better, but I kinda like the gameplay version as well. Can't really explain it.

Oh don't get me wrong. I like everything about the game :). I'm just saying every time I recommend the game to anyone I link the trailer. Then I hear the trailer shout and I'm like.... :o why don't I sound like that in game. Its so punchy and brutal.

Like I want the full "FUs Ro Dah" from the trailer with the echo and everything. Its just pure power.

Why did they even feel the need to change it? I like both, but why couldn't they just use the same ones? ._. Also, does every race have a different voice actor for the shouts?

Shouts are better than 'magic' and learning them is a true challenge, unlike magic where all you need is reading a book.

That's the way all non-mundane skills should be handled. Challenging, difficult to achieve.

Well the cinematic version is supposed to be more dramatic, while the in-game version is more how it would sound most of the time. Can't always make yourself sound that dramatic all the time.

I'm much, much, much more worried about the fact that shouts count as voice in the settings, instead of effects. This means I barely hear what NPCs say, sword attacks and such are fine and when a draugr shouts my speakers almost implode by the black hole created.

I mean that's not really a counter point. My in game should should sound dramatic. Casting a spell or a Thu'um, to me, should require your energy, your essence. I mean it WOULD be dramatic. You're shouting. Its a SHOUT lol. Shouting is dramatic in real life. I just want that sound and the echo. It just adds to the immersion and the power.
