It would be really cool if there where was some sort of settlement gallery where we could download and swap out settlements made by players. (similar to the Sims)

Here's my sanctuary settlement.

***

I moved everything inside the bunk house and moved my power armor to the top floor after some raiders managed to get in and steal my first suit of power armor. Everything seems better now that I've done that. I keep all my generators down by the river because they're so damn noisy and I run cables all the way up to where I am. It's just cleaner like that. :)

In terms of defenses, I have a junk fence running around the entire "green-glowing" perimeter of the settlement and have turrets guarding the bridge with a maze like entrance similar to what you find in tower defense games. I don't seem to have many attacks.

How did you get to the roof of Red Rocket? Tried building a stair case but couldn't fit?

Finally the moment you've all been waiting for.

Ever wondered just how those traders got all them items? Well it all comes from Lü Bu's workshops (China Style). And now for the first time one can witness just how great those working conditions are!

Remember kids, slaves will want to run away, or try to get out of work. But that's just the rebellious subconscious trying to prevent the creation of something great. Add automated turrets to fire at will and all the psychological ill-health will disappear!

http://postimg.org/image/58bayjuc7/

Let's just take a minute of silence in remembrance of the two settlers taking a walk outside of break hours (which happen once a week for 10 minutes) they were, shortly after the photo was taken, slain under suspicious circumstance, Lü Bu Authorities are currently investigating although no leads have been found.

I decided to make Red Rocket my base because i like the garage door.

I don't clean up the area like many players do, unless i have to, because i actually like the junk parts in settlements, i think it adds character to the place.

At first i was planning for it to be my personal home, but i felt lonely so i put some extra beds for two guards, two farmers, a Trader, and Sturges.

Pretty much built a staircase and set a container on the end so I could hop up.

I probably won't be able to get a screenshot of my main settlement in completion. I'm working on turning the whole entire town of Sanctuary back to "glory"... I also live there. It'll take a lot of copper and many other materials though so it isn't even completed. When I do get it completed, I'll probably share a video (somehow).

I'm also using the Red Truck place nearby as a "center", so to say. I have a supply line from Sanctuary to it and then everybody at the Red Truck place will be a supply line to all of my other settlements... Having everything all connected together. It's working really well.

Can you guys who do these sick builds do a video tutorial for the rest of us?

I'm so fed up slamming my head against the difficulty curve that is FO4's building system, I don't even want to do it anymore. I really just want to watch a video of somebody else building something good so I can see what they're doing right. (And what I'm doing wrong.)

Build something by the side and then build across to get the height right, or you can add smaller stairs to the bottom of bigger ones to extend the gap to the ground check my vid (sig) for an idea if you want.

One annoying thing I found with my base is that by the time I hear an attack and run to somewhere to help it's all over, it'd be good if the game threw more and harder attackers the bigger you get, not just 3 super mutants. My defence is about 70.

This is part of my Sanctuary hotel thing or whatever you would call it. It's pretty simple. All powered with it's own generator, separate from the water/other building. Four stories, inside stairwell, 3rd floor game room with radio, juke box, and pool table, 22 beds, 1st floor is a dining area/checkin (and Mother's chair in the corner), merchant row across street and vendors on 1st and 4th floors. Right around the corner from my player headquarters (which is just the large metal prefab with power and table surfaces for maps and the like. Wanted the small 5th floor roof room to be an office for my player, but couldn't get a roof on top because if I stood on the 5th floor my head was out of bounds and couldn't get it to work from standing on the 4th, so it's just roof access now.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/7l3as9idcz1viy3/ScreenShot32.png?dl=0

Part of the game room. Still needs decorations on the walls and stuff, but I'm going one floor at a time and haven't gotten there yet.

Loving all these pics, didn't know there was an upper out of bounds though, must be just under it myself.

It's not difficult as much as frustrating. Simple things like 45° posts for putting under overhangs and no clip would help immensely. The lack of building block types is poor so pillars and supports have to be improvised sometimes, also using the landscape to your advantage like using grass to cover gaps and so on is a neat trick.

I've noticed a few walls and items can clip a little. Mainly it's a process of trial, error a and a lot of microscopic movements to get everything as close as possible. I might try and record me building but it's a slow, laborious process.

I had to make some changes to my Red Rocket compound as things didn't work out like I hoped (damn size limit) so here's some pics:

Home built into the overhang with my personal metal armory on the roof- http://i.imgur.com/IWWC5oJ.png

Sleep spot- http://i.imgur.com/jxfE0tE.png

Inside my metal armory- http://i.imgur.com/Zlmbq7H.png (disappointed that I need local leader 2 for PA stations)

Entrance area- http://i.imgur.com/WGCfM8c.png

The damn mole rat holes never go away so I made them look official by sticking turrets in them- http://i.imgur.com/dp94iEE.png

Garden- http://i.imgur.com/lsTc0U7.png

Water pumps and whatnot- http://i.imgur.com/xtWn9ep.png

My generator spot (no wires on ground floor)- http://i.imgur.com/5rpUPwK.png

Can never have too many turrets- http://i.imgur.com/0oHDrKl.png

Ok I've bombarded this thread so I won't link any more shots even though my Brahmin area is missing and no inside shots.

Big flat ladder next to lowest part of roof then little stairs to walk up to said ladder and I still have to jump off the ladder onto roof but this was to see if it was possible. Am thinking either set a concrete foundation first then ladder or prefab two storie with stairs, possibilities aren't lacking heh

Amen brother, AMEN!
