Show Skyrim Running on PS3!

Post » Mon Aug 22, 2011 9:00 am

Please put my fears to rest and show PS3 owners are not left out in the cold this time, By that I mean we never got the DLC for oblivion, then Fallout 3 shipped with a majority of glitches and was rated the worst version ( thanks for the updates and fixing it... plus trophies ) We all would fell at ease seeing The PS3 version running, isn't that right mates!? Oh i per-ordered Collectors edition! Hope you come threw Bethesda

TES is made for the xbox 360 primarily, and PC. Thats the main focus of the devs over at Bethesda. Im not saying that the xbox 360 version will be superior compared to the ps3 version, nor do I think the graphics will be much different, its just that it seems the devs want to focus on showing the xbox 360 footage because that is the system most people will be buying Skyrim for, along with the PC. It seems xbox 360 owners are more of TES fans anyway.

tgl1992, there's a whole Console War thing where Xbox 360 owners hate PS3 owners who hate Xbox owners who hate Wii owners blah de blah. I'm not saying Ratpatrol01 is like that - they seem cool, I guess they just wanna be sure the game isn't badly ported to PS3. (Almost entirely different hardware platform, from start to finish).

i just want the frame rate to be stable and no screen tearing.

fallout 3 on ps3 had serious issues with the frame rate and freezing especially on DLC like point lookout *bad memories resurfacing*

I'm quite sure that i know less that you know about pc's, yet i'm a pc gamer :P. Just go to a pc store and tell them which game you would like to run on max graphics (those people usually game even more than i do so they know what they're talking about :P)

I don't care for Which console it is targeted towards, PC is the best of them all... I just want to see that it was worked on and now that the company has grown, they might want to be a quality developer that has all its corners covered. Are you being Bias and saying that PS3 owners don't like TES? Well one reason would be the large amount of exclusives, compared to just 1 (gears of war). I am not a flame starter just don't blatantly undermined us.

the ps3 version will be almost identical the only difference is that the ps3 will have like a fraction of a second longer load for some images, just because its on a blu-ray

people keep saying this because, although i do thoroughly trust beth the make them identical, if they arent hiding anything then they should just show it already, its the uncertainty that is annoying. But having said that its a minor annoyance as i really do believe there will be no dif. between the xbox/ps3 :hehe:

Why are people so worried to see a ported version onto the PS3? It's going to essentially be identical.

At least the PC version will actually have things like AA, AF, draw distance and ini tweaks, etc.

I believe that todd said they show it more on the 360 is because he just prefer it over the others. It doesn't mean that they are secretly against or for the PS3

Yeah, nearly every game I've seen on both the 360 and PS3 look indistinguishable.

All the demo footage so far has been on the Xbox yes, so the PC users are also missing out if you look at it this way! Todd has mentioned that it is just easier to show what the average user will be seeing and the demo is easier to load on on the Xbox. To give you some heart Oblivion was reported to run better on the PS3 than it did on the Xbox, but then again it was released AFTER the Xbox version was so Bethesda would have had the chance to iron out some kinks from the Xbox release and optimize it better accordingly. You have gotta remember that when Bethesda were working on Oblivion they hadn't even recieved the Xbox hardware yet, it wasn't until they were roughly half way through production that they actually got to take a look at the hardware! What does this mean for console owners? Todd has admitted that their programmers as a whole are MUCH more aware of the Xbox and PS3 hardware and their capabilities this time round with Skyrim, what this means is they can create the best looking game possible on BOTH consoles! PC will have more graphics options and high resolution textures as standard of course, might go get a Asus G74 gaming laptop and see how it handles Skyrim in Full-HD!

Don't stress is the bottom line, both versions will be great and Todd has mentioned how proud they are of both versions, how they look and play!

I dont understand the sheer panic of PS3 players. Do you really think you're going to get a version of Skyrim with 8-bit textures, no audio, and Atari-like graphics? It will look like the 360 version. If there are any differences they would be negligible. Just settle down already. You're getting all worked up over nothing.

the fear isn't the graphics per se, more like it's performance as in framerate at least for me.

point lookout on the ps3 was horrendous on the framerate side. freezing and lagging everywhere.

LOL yea I'm as well informed about what you just said about all the above... (all of it) yes Oblivion got an extra year of Dev. But I did not want to write out what most people such as you and I already know. I assume they have taken a less casual approach to either console since Tod openly said they are now utilizing whats left in these current gen consoles. With BF3 and Mass Effect 3 & skyrim CE in my collection that totals around 300+ $ so there goes half a chance to get a PC soon. I will in the future as I know that these games are Big in all terms.

I also want to see Skyrim running on the PS3. I've been asking on here for months and can't stand the waiting anymore. We're close to a mere 2 1/2 months from release. It's time for Bethesda to show all consumers what they'll be purchasing (meaning both PS3 and PC footage and screenshots), not just the 360 players.

I'm not too worried it'll likely be the same as long as it doesn't end up like FO3's DLC i'm happy.
