Show some love!

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 12:10 am

Was wandering through the area surrounding the Imperial City with the daylight slowly ticking away when I caught most beautiful in game sky for any game I've ever seen. The unforgettable exploration sound track playing along as I chopped firewood and set up camp for the night. I realized how much I loved this game but also how much I love the mods for this game. I know we give thanks and praise in each individual mod thread and through nexus endorsemants but I just want to show some additional love to the dedicated modding community and how they've crafted an experience unlike any other game that I've come across. So show some love in whatever way you feel appropriate,( maybe by sharing a moment in which a collaboration of mods worked together to produce something wondeful) to the mods which are sometimes buggy, oftentimes surprising but always amazing!

Morrowind and Oblivion are both amazig for their longevity, which is built on mostly it's fantastic modding community. I do admit, I wouldn't undergo the intensive work implied in creating Darkshines if it wasn't for this community. And on the other hand, being a player is just as great with a seemingly infinite library of enhancements and gameplay-value adding mods out there. Cheers! :celebration:

Agreed, I was just thinking about starting a "salute to the modders" thread myself. I have a hard time expressing just how much I appreciate the long hours, days, months, even YEARS that some of you have devoted to making the mods work, and then SUPPORTING them. That is an awesome devotion to something that does not pay. Please believe that all that work is very much appreciated.

lol!

I actually believe you, too. Scary though your statement is. :D

I'd post some kind of "evidence" of how much I love mods (and all you modders out there) but, well, hopefully my continued genuine interest, speaking (appropriately) well of various mods (and modders), and links to the odd screenshot here and there will suffice, at least for now.

Short of buying y'all a drink of choice* - if I ever got the chance - it will have to do, I suppose. :(

* Ah, make it several. :P

Thank you for the trees, leaves and flowers I feel I could pick. Thank you for the intricate flames, the glowing lava, and the dark night skies. Thank you for the distant vistas that look like a postcard, and for the shooting stars and for the distant window lights. Thank you for the two little beeps that let me know you just prevented a crash, and the immediate exit when I need one. Thank you for the many skins, shapes, eyes, hair, new races, and other cosmetics which make all of Tamriel look alive, and the animations that let my character read a book or bow her head in sorrow. Thank you for pets, and the companions, the glinting blades and the armors that range from battered to divine. Thank you for snail racing, houses where I can fish and craft, quests that send me all over the world, and places to go beyond the once impassable borders. Thank you for redecorating that awful house in IC for me. Thank you for the tools that help me learn how to make my own decorations. And a very special thank you for the tools that let me experience all these things without Nirn exploding. There are just too many things I am thankful for to mention them all, so thank you, every one of you who has released a mod or tool for Oblivion. Lotsa love.
