If you think a flat plane of wood over stone looks good and is believable then you are beyond help.
I think you are missing the point, which is being consistent and believable within a fantasy world. That is,
not our world. If the intended environment is something like Black Marsh, which is supposed to be rather harsh, functionality would probably be of more concern than looks. Even so, both would probably find their way in. Maybe the wood provides traction on what would otherwise be slippery stone in a wet environment. Do you understand?
I might not put wood over stone like that if I were to build a house, but that doesn't mean that the idea is bad.
If you think it is aesthetically displeasing, that is your opinion. It is not a fact. I am allowed to have a different opinion without your insults. Insults that I've done absolutely nothing to deserve.
Now, I'm done with this argument. It feels like it has become something specifically against me, and I don't know what else can be constructively said about it. If you want to continue this, it can be done in private.
