Nice hammer Skinjack.

I was playing Oblivion and got the sudden urge to recreate the hircine statue, even though I have no use for it...

Alt version with a bit more colour:

Textures svck, I know...
Yes you do svck Chainy! lol That's what happens when you don't audio chat with me on Skype and choose to go talk to girls instead!!! I paid $50 for that headset and I haven't even used it yet. :(
Oh, and I rewrote that memo you asked me about for the HIPAA presentation at work on Tuesday. Can you see if Maria will bring in potato skins for Bev's potluck tomorrow? Or Sue, whatever the hell her name is. The lady that was on medical leave for 6 months. Oh, and I changed out the ink cartridge in the printer on my desk, fyi.

Don't see why not... you have something in mind for it?

To be honest no, but I always have use for these things for Rebirth. Obviously it's gonna be something connected to Solstheim, perhaps I'll make a shrine or similar :)

Ideas tend to pop up while I'm at work :P

It could end up being useful for Province: Cyrodiil.

The first one is the best, I'd say.
The second is great too. But it would be much easier for comparison if you had all the shots taken from the same spot and direction..

I'd say a version of 3 that's the same brightness of 1, because I love the amount of detail visible on 3. :D

Your skies' detail is just amazing :goodjob: but the repetitiveness scares me tbh..
But I'm sure some fresh in-game pictures will prove me wrong :whisper:

Your joking, right?

Right? :(

There are NO repeated cloud formations in this texture, NONE, all of them are unique, and all the ones I will add will be unique, I don't know what repetitiveness your talking about, but I sure don't see any, oh wait, unless you mean my example of the Vanilla Morrowind repetitiveness, yeah, that's a little ugly to see firsthand...
But I'm sure some fresh in-game pictures will prove me wrong :whisper:

The texture isn't done yet, and I don't feel like taking a ton of time just to render a texture in 40962 when I'm just going to have to do it all over again. Once it's done though, I'm sure it'll be an awesome, non-repetitive, detailed, sharp looking piece of awesomeness, in the meantime, I'm going to have to find more source photos for texturing, lots and lots more...

Oops, my bad!
I thought the highly detailed texture on the http://i54.tinypic.com/35bxoht.jpg is just a zoomed part of that repetitive pattern you've shown on the http://i55.tinypic.com/5mbaqf.jpg.
I should've read your post much more carefully. Hope you'll forgive my silliness :whistling:

It's alright, you just scared me for a second, I REALLY don't want my textures to appear repetitive this time, so if they are repetitive at all, tell me at once when I post the beta! ;)

Never been bothered much by the repeativness of the original sky textures, maybe it's just me. It's rare that when i play i stay still and study something until i find something wrong with it. As long as everyhing in the scenery flows together nicely it's ok for me, when something stands out (like an unnatural color on grass or the sky or something) it can really get on my nerves though and i have to stop playing and mod it, lol

Great textures apel, I think the smoother looking rock texture 1 is best myself.

Apel, I know you wanted to make the stone texture a bit mossy, but considering people are using Taddeus' On the rocks (Bittercoast), the colour scheme is too similar imo:http://pnmedia.gamespy.com/planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/fms/images/mods/8763/1287156213_fullres.jpg
So stay with a smoother texture and maybe a different kind of mossiness, if at all.

And SWG: Is that texture 4096x4096? From all the sky mods I was really enjoying your night sky texture, cause the stars looked natural (their size). So imo please make them not too large.

Dude, bunch of people don't get many response if any at all, no need for crying :P

Loving the detail tho, I used your skies from the last version you did, they were pretty neat. Just don't go over yourself, some people here try to fix stuff that doesn't need fix. Not saying this is it, can't wait to see that texture up in the sky in game ;)

Yeah, I'd say that's normal. It wouldn't be so normal if you'd stare into a bush for hours just to see what could you improve, so you can consider yourself normal :P hehe

I don't think the original skies bothered that many people, but they did me, if they didn't I wouldn't want to mod the !%*# out of them... :P

I do that, being a texturer, I'll play games and then literally stop what I'm doing and stare at a pretty texture, or I'll get really annoyed by a crappy one, and sometimes stop playing the game because of it.

And SWG: Is that texture 4096x4096? From all the sky mods I was really enjoying your night sky texture, cause the stars looked natural (their size). So imo please make them not too large.

Yup, it's 40962, I'm probably going to distribute a 20482 version this time though, as a lot of people had reported problems with the highres textures (not showing up at all, ect.).

Dude, bunch of people don't get many response if any at all, no need for crying :P

Well, I'm either used to response, which is why I yearn for it sometimes, or I'm just bored and want to write replies like this one. :P That, or I'm looking for feedback and ideas.

I'm pretty sure I can't go outdo myself with the skies, not many people pointed them out, but I know at least a few people (I believe Vtastek did) noticed the lossy compression artifacts, stretching, ect. ect.

Yeah, I'd say that's normal. It wouldn't be so normal if you'd stare into a bush for hours just to see what could you improve, so you can consider yourself normal :P

I've been known to stop and randomly stare at meshes and textures in the game, am I still normal? :D
