@divineNandi, nice! I'm still waiting for someone to make the http://www.imperial-library.info/content/page-39 though, but this should do for now. :)

I remember seeing a WIP piece regarding that version somewhere on this site once but I can't seem to find it anymore and don't believe it was ever finished. However, I did save an image of it https://dl-web.dropbox.com/get/Public/33d076d762b1.jpg?w=900a6dbf. If the author is still on this site maybe he can be persuaded to release it?

@Malek, it was AOF who made the strider, but he had only posted the one screenshot and never posted about it again.

Oh, and your link takes me to a 403 page.

plenty of people have posted pics of a concept art silt strider model, including AOF (his version looked really good imo).. it's just too bad none every gets finished it seems.

edit: ok, "plenty" is a slight exaggeration :P but i've seen at least 3-4 different models posted.

I can upload my silt strider model, but it is not animated.....

This is the only screenshot I have of it, I think.

The texture is unique. It will not work with other silt strider texture replacers. And I would have to try to find all the files..... :whistling:

Lookin' great! Isn't it a bit big, though? I find it hard to imagine that poor little strider operator guy climbing on top of that thing and start steering it.

I think it's not. Check the concept-art:http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Concept_Art
AOF, I would love to see that released.

Yes! Please do! I'd love to have a crack at texturing that beast, it looks really good.

Apel, yours is awesome as well, I would love to see a release of it too, the more the merrier.

What's wrong with the kick-ass texture that it is currently sporting?

I don't want to sound overly critical or anything here, but it's a bit repetitive, it looks the same along the whole mesh from that screen, plus I'd want to make it look more like a blend from the original strider and the concept art one.

Besides that, it is a pretty fantastic texture. :)

We difinitely need more concept based models in morrowind. Obviously this silt strider is much taller than the vanilla ones but even creating a higher strider port would look cooler in morrowinds alien world. I picture this creature towering next to a rickity poorly constructed, semi-tilting port with boards and nails sticking out everywhere :)

Although I love this vision of yours for the game I must say that I hope you are never in charge of any real life construction jobs for the safety of everyone. That aside, I am in total agreement.

yeah that strider looks great, bump maps in Morrowind looks like cr*p though, so don't spend too much time with that if you're gonna use it just for MW and not Oblivion ;)

i also dont get how you can mess with bump maps if you dont have a texture yet??

Well you can sculpt 3d details onto a higher poly version of the mesh, then bake the details to a bump map for a lower poly version.
I guess you don't even need a finalised UV, just generate one and use a different map channel. In any case I've known a few people to do that when sculpting for games, it's not that strange really.

Here's a few screens of my largest project.

Maybe by the years end for a release. Been working on this for over two years now.

Animation isn't terribly important to me-- I was glad Bethesda included it in the vanilla game because the first thing I did when I saw the strider in Seyda Neen was stop and stare at it to see if it moved, but after that I was never looking at one long enough to notice the animations. I vote just release it as it :)

@Saint_Jiub, the reason animations are important is so that some of the realtime silt-strider travel mods in the works will be compatible. That, and it would be awesome if we could have a battle with a silt strider. :D
