Just rediscovered this personal house mod I made a while back. Forgot how much work I ended up putting into it, then never used it... maybe I'll release it if I ever clean it up enough. Plus it conflicts pretty badly with vurt's AI and GL trees in certain areas.

Looks like a great start on a http://www.greatergatsby.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/jerry-wombat.jpg to me (which would be fantastic if it were :twirl: ). Good Job :goodjob:

Okay I http://img530.imageshack.us/img530/927/75621005.png, hopefully this clears up whether it's a wombat/beaver/hippo or Babe. Should be learning to uvw map but ahh bit busy at the moment. Too busy procrastinating. Feel free to make any of the above though if you'd like, I'd be happy to gift the mesh to anyone.

Removed the side-ring, as dagoth_jeff suggested. Does it look better or worse? Also, the helpful Shady Smuggler has volunteered to give people a better idea of the size of this thing. (He's barely visible, but he's there.)

Don't want to get a reputation of a major slacker :P so a crappy pic of town I started working on recently, and is progressing reeeally slowly. It's gonna be some time before I get to detailing at least one street to shoot it and show it off here :P

http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj238/Chakich/Morrowind/MGEScreenshot1.jpg
Ships are also wip, or to say more or less references that helped me build a dock layout. I plan to use several different ships instead of 10 stock ones :P

Also as an idea, to navigate the town streets easier, was to have a wood panels with names on corner of each street so that each street has a name, but not sure will I stick with the idea since I can't texture a jack s***.

I know you didn't ask, and I'm not even sure if you would be interested, but I have added rigging to one of Korana's excelent Galleon Models(from her Pirate galleon resource) since there was no rigging on the models originally, just free floating sails....anyways, if you would like to use it, you can get my rigged model http://www.4shared.com/file/sxI2dqL6/KOGalleonwithrigging.html.

Note.-I did not include any of the textures, since they are available by downloading Korana's Galleon Mod, I also didn't change the name of the mesh after editing it, so to use my mesh, you would need to d/l her galleon resource, then my mesh and over write..........Probably pointless to point all this out if no one ends up using this anyway. :P

I much prefer this newer design to the original. It looks a great deal more clean. Very interesting concept as well.

Personally, I preferred your original design with the external ring. Giving it a bit of asymmetry makes the building more interesting to look at, IMO.

Looks great! You've really mastered that tileset Chaka :goodjob: Much better than any luck I've had with it.

I like the idea of streetsigns, especially if it's going to be a large city. Do you have Photoshop? It'd probably be easier to do it in there. I'm no PS expert (don't even own it :P) but I have a feeling the drop shadow or something might work if applied to text.

Thanks :)
Unfortunately I do not own photoshop (I'm not too keen on buying PC programs, especially if I can get program of the same type for free...cheap bastard I know) but I don't think I'd know how to use it anyway.
I have this PhotoFiltre which more or less covers all my texturing needs but I probably won't be able to do something like this with it, at least I think..

It does resemble those spaghetti westerns haha. Nice work though Chaka!

I know this isn't what you are looking for, but for some reason, from that view, it looks like an old western town to me, lol. Just the sloped rooftops and all.

haha that really wasn't what I was looking for but now that you guys mention it it does resemble a bit :P

Looks nice! And hey, you can always make a patch for compatibility with mentioned mods.

Cool, I might use it, but since I have no idea what it means you should probably explain me the "I have added a rigging" part to me (PM would be more suitable I think, than spamming this place).

Good start. Re the street names... The guy who made Annastia uses them in Port Blacksand. See the http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg282/MrKWMonk/MGEScreenshot712.jpg embedded in the wall next to the NPC? You can't read them out right but mousing over them gives you the street name like the cantons signs in Vivec.

Nice idea for a large town for giving directions etc etc.

Cheers

Hey that's a really good idea. + it will save me some space (since I won't need a differently named mesh and so many textures for each street!). Thanks :hehe:

Have you ever tried http://www.gimp.org/downloads/? It's free I use it and a http://paint.net/ for texturing.

I may bother with a compatibility patch in the future. For now I was mainly posting that to possibly inspire someone else. Or see if anyone wanted it :P

On a different note. I've been going through some of the creature replacers I have active and if I don't like what they made I've made some for myself. Currently I've only done two.

i like that frost monarch, but i cant say im too hot for gedna. looks like she's trying to eat the soulgem, lol

on a related note, has anyone made translucent frost atronachs? im not much of a graphics guy, but i think having the textures somehow semi-transparent would look neat.

Anyway, I'm utterly glad I did not use the highmap editor but raised it myself, this was hell of a fun to raise and detail. The weird cornered piece in the upper right corner of the 3rd pic is where the city docks are from my pic from the last post :) So yeah, the city is pretty much stationed among and on the veins of this long dead volcano. (not seenable yet, but it's not finished obviously, just wanted to show off my big ass volcano :P)

You mean http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y76/Caultus/seethroughatro.jpg (I know you said frost atronach, but the fire one was more handy for me to mess with). Now I only made the element parts transparent, the armour I left normal.
All it took was a NifSkope tweak- Node- attach property- NiAlphaProperty- then set alpha to 50%. Pretty simple, except that you have to do each block.

Just trying to suggest a simple way that anyone could do it... if you know a little bit about NifSkope. :hehe:

You can if you speak Daedric! It's "Welcome" message aside, make sure the base of that mesh doesn't stick though if you use it!

yes, actually, quite like that, though on the frost, i was thinking of only having some parts of the texture transparent, such as parts of the more grayish blue on the frost, so that you get the "realistic" ice effect, like homemade ice cubes. though i suppose assigning a total transparency would give a similar effect. i'm not a graphics guy though, so i'll leave that bit of fun to those who are =D

and on topic: http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii132/rakninja/elderscrolls/inprogress.jpg. yeah, i suppose i'm primarily a scripter, but i want in on the fun too

Yup I knew that, so I wouldn't use the same texture if I'd use that mesh, but I'm not anyway :P

Thanks for the warning tho :)

So what exactly does the script do? I can't zoom it in :P

You should make it her eye instead. Or give her two grand soul gems as eyes instead of using only one common one. ;D

I tried sticking it in her eye, and it looked rather bulbous and silly... maybe if I tweaked it a little more. Though for my personal replacer. I rather like her chewing on the soulgem :P

So what exactly does the script do? I can't zoom it in :P

those are the scripts that relate to "tithes", a feature i'm adding to the ecclesiastic factions of the Tribunal Temple and Imperial Cult. as leader of those factions, you can visit selected shrines/temples to collect the money that the parishioners donate each week. you can either take the gold for your own personal use, or use it to expand your faction's influence thus gaining converts and increasing tithe amounts. if you get most of the available population under your banner, you'll be able to lobby Duke Dren in ebonheart to advance your faction's agenda. oh yea, i'm also making these two factions somewhat mutually exclusive, so that advancing past rank 4 will prevent you from advancing in the other faith based faction, and you will not be able to lead either as a member of the other.

that's actually pretty neat. do you think you could modify the skull around the gem to make it seem like the skull was broken when the gem was fused there? kinda like a ragged hole in the bone that surrounds it. kind of a lot of work for a unique creature tied to a single subquest, though. i'd use a skull like that for all of my liches if i could.

@Melchior:
Perhaps you could tie together the soulgem and her jaw using some sort of leather band or something? Make it look like something else than teeth is securing it, so to speak. No idea if it'll look good, but oh well.

I may look into that. I tried seeing how she looked with tronvillain's better skulls. If I was to alter the texture/mesh I'd use his textures. I'll look into it. I can't decide which version of Gedna I like best so I'll have to follow this one through to find out.

I'd thought about this. I'd have to make an entirely new model for it to look half-way decent. And I'd want to sketch it out first to have an idea of what I was doing. But I don't see why leather bands would be so difficult to model...

I'll come up with something guys. I should have some more time to work on it tonight.

ohhh neato, despite kind of losing some of the armor-ish chest bits, the way the ice part of it looks is fantastic. the armor-ish chest bits now look like "defects" in the ice. not bad, not bad at all. definatly something i'd want to install.

i mean ive got improved fire and storm atronachs, but the frost always seemed a bit lacking.
