Thank you for this vid. It was nice to see you experiment with the landscape.

Please tell me you have backups of your projects. I'm so scared after what happened to ZackG and some of MidgetAlien's work.

Thank you for this vid. It was nice to see you experiment with the landscape.

Thanks, I wanted to show how the landscape is being designed and how quickly and easily things can be changed. I've had the volcano/mt idea for some time, and tried it out here, but I probably won't keep it, as I plan to put a city or something above or around that lake.

I'll be putting up another similar video soon showing some newer stuff, and eventually, when the time comes, some videos of the mod being made in the CS.

Please tell me you have backups of your projects. I'm so scared after what happened to ZackG and some of MidgetAlien's work.

No not really. I see everything I've done over the past 5+ years as just me learning how to mod, so that I can oneday make the things that I want to make. I doubt much or any of it will be finished or released, but the skills I learnt from doing them will be put to use into something better. Maybe that's a mod like Moonshadow, or a series of smaller mods, or maybe it's a career in game design or something, I don't know yet.

If I ever lost everything, I doubt that would stop me from modding. It would probably set me back for a bit, but as long as the ideas are around I think anything can be rebuilt, and it gives you an excuse to go back and redo it better.

I've been (slowly) working on Moonshadow since 2006, and have always known that I wouldn't be able to make it the way I imagined without first learning how to mod, model, texture and all the other stuff. I think that I am at a stage now where I have most of the skills and tools to make it closer to how I imagine, which is why I am working on it again.

That worries me. I hope that you choose to back your work up, whether it be locally of online. I doubt that Fliggerty would have a problem hosting your stuff without it being available to the public. I find your work incredible, either from screens of unfinished projects or releases. However, I definitely respect your wishes, as you are one of my favorite modders.

Anyway, cheers ^_^

At the moment £exa is working on various Dwemer stuff - and I talk about new meshes, no retexed stuff. Wanna see something? Well, here we go:

http://postimage.org/image/1rvm4frd0/
This picture shows new exterior fortress walls and a possible use to create buildings. Also an exterior dome mesh. Check out that all this nicely fits to the vanilla morrowind dwemer entry mesh (they stack).

http://postimage.org/image/sfa31htw/
This is a tileset to create smaller dwemer walls. The size is nearly the same as those of the broken ruin walls but these walls stack (64 cs units grid) and offer ramps, pillars, broken and decor elements.

http://postimage.org/image/sig74fwk/
This is an large air intake...

http://postimage.org/image/siq4civ8/
A big oil storage tank for exteriors or large interior halls.

http://postimage.org/image/sj3cnatg/
And well, of course we have some new steam stacks here, I was a little tired of reusing the old one over and over...

... and the work still continues.

Messing around with the UI graphics

Gold text seems readable enough with the color scheme. Red.... not so much. And it appears I didn't do the top border right.

Would a Dwemer halberd more in the style of the original be out of the question? Looks gorgeous, otherwise.

WIP for the awning thatch retexturing:

But I'm not satisfied with my textures because they seems too neat in comparison with the very traditional/manual awning thatch texture.

This looks stunning, do you plan to combine it with some of the http://vality.xtreemhost.com/gallery/Moonshadow.html you released earlier, or is it just to train and get skilled or whatever?

papill6n: thatch retexturing looks also very good!

What I'm doing now is designing the map and heightmap for the world, which I will then put into the CS and start working on it. The screenshots show a little test area I made as a way to work out how it could look, and to try out different colours and stuff. That was well over a year ago so I won't be going back to any of that, but it gives a general idea of how the realm or a part of the realm could look.

Ah ok, thanks for the reply. I just asked, because I really like the mood of those screens one year ago, it seems that every tree, bush or grass fits perfectly there. I know that you are far far away from any playabale stuff or even a release (maybe that's not even planned?), but have you thougt about how you'd integrate Moonshadow in the game? Maybe you can enter it like a dungeon or something like that? It would be great, if there would be some quests, maybe a litte venue as refuge for the player or something...well, what ever it will be at the end, it's amazing how you're comittet to that game and it's modding...hats off!

If it's not by invitation from Azura, then it would very likely involve Divayth Fyr. Either way you would step through some sort of portal/gate.
