Do you happen to have a female character by chance? I think the model is different for male and female characters. I haven't seen different road leather models on my male character yet.

AFAIK, only one type. Just differing appearances for males and females.

Edit: Too many people using the ninja perk

A little dark, but here he is-- The Sheriff.

A brighter shot from the top of the "Tower", a monstrous construction of steel and metal with two artillery cannons on top, overlooking the rest of the town:

Thing is, I put one of my settlers in a Road Leathers and it does not look like the "skull buckle" or the chain around the neck is visible at the settler. I have to check theis when I get home from work!

Thanks. Nice looking but terrible stats. Probably can't be modded either.

I'm wearing military fatigues now, together with Army helmet and combat armor. Guy takes 'ex-military' very seriously. Sadly makes boring screenshots.

Wait, another question for understanding:

Does that mean I looted my item from a female and therefore have the checkered shirt? Or does it mean even if I loot a killed man with a white undershirt it will turn checkered when I put in on my female char? :ahhh:

I think that it changes when you put it on. Same item different look depending on six on your character wearing it.

Sometimes, a quick bath and a rest from all that sweaty leather makes ya feel like a new man. Nothing says "You're a man!" like a nice, clean suit. That, and the perfectly awesome sniper rifle! Jonah "liberated" it while helping out a tiny settlement that had a bit of a problem with raiders. Just the feel of the weapon makes him feel a bit more like his "old" self...

Nice Western aesthetic you got going on there! I approve.

Right, took me a while to find a good spot to get shots, but I found something :D

Mariska has undergone quite a change after seeing her hubby shot. Having watched too many mad max movies in the past, she decided to get warpaint while hunting the bastard down who kidnapped her son.

The apparel I use when I have to go social (+5 to charisma from the dress, glasses and hat)

My character, La Femme Nikita, is an Agent Provocateur. She specializes in corporate and government espionage. She has a penchant for persuing and acquiring advanced technology with BOS-like fervor, but her intentions for doing so remain unknown.

The facegen in this game is so much better than F3 and F:NV it's ridiculous, as are the face meshes and textures. And I'm glad to see people are putting it to good use, loads of good looking characters in this thread.
My favourite is probably Wayne from message #6, he looks tough as nails. Also nice to see I'm not the only one rocking the army fatigues + beret look. :)

This is Daerwyn. Her parents were a couple of die-hard geeks, so they gave her a bit of a fantasy name. While she didn't exactly resent growing up surrounded by comics and other forms pop-culture, she did try to distance herself from it somewhat and got her law degree more out of a desire to be taken seriously than of any real interest in legal matters. Still, when the post-apocalypse turned out to be wilder than any Groknak comic she ever read, it was her upbringing and not her law degree that stuck, and she took to the new world like a fish to water. After emerging from Vault 111 her life has been a constant balancing act between the grief and rage over her ruined family, and being downright giddy with excitement over all the outrageous adventure she constantly faces.

While generally kind at heart she has absolutely zero mercy for raiders or other base villains. Although she has no formal military training, she picked up her share of tricks from her late husband, and her keen wit and agility make her quite talented at commando tactics; She employs stealth, speed and heavy firepower from highly modified small arms to dispatch whatever miscreants happen to cross her path.

Her attitude and demeanor are not exactly professional however, as she does have a wide mischievious and sarcastic streak to her. Thus she frequently finds herself in conversations where she simply cannot keep a straight face and acts like a [censored], be it appropriate or not. She is also irredeemably curious and will stick her nose just in about anything that seems even remotely interesting, which is probably why she gets along fantastically well with Piper.

Charles, or General Charles as he is now called, have changed quite a bit since his first steps outside the vault. He is no longer the goody two-shoes military veteran from pre-war america, the time in the wasteland have changed him. The recent discovery of a certain mysterious serum, and contact with the interesting character who is the supplier, have changed Charles thoughts of himself and his life in the new world.

Since the launch of fallout I've had problems feeling any attachment to my character since it felt a bit forced you would behave in a certain way coming from pre-war war america. But now I feel enough in-game time has passed for the wasteland to start having an effect on the character and he can start acting different. So I'm glad I stuck with him and didn't restart a new character, I just hope I'll see more evil options for quests in the future. Very minor spoilers regarding a non-main quests -->

Spoiler
The cabot quests was the only one I've felt gave somewhat of that option - also if you complete the quests make sure to read a journal upstairs in the cabot house. Was quite a nice read :D

Love your desk decoration Dr. Scandi. Do you have to pick it up from the floor everytime you come back, or are you bug-free-lucky with your decoration?

heh, haven't had any problems yet but I've only fast traveled there once since it was built. Didn't think of that, does it happen to you often?

Yep, I basically gave up on decoration until this is fixed. Everything I placed fell down more and more the more I fast traveled back to the base. My toaster did not only fall through the table, the floor and the wall downstairs, nope - if I want to pick it up now its also marked as stealing....

In addition this causes problems with re-decorating, as pieces that fall to the floor tip over and picking them up will not adjust them back to standing position :/ Hope it works out for you and stays like this!

It's likely going to happen for me aswel then, considering I think I remember it from fallout 3 and skyrim. So if it hasn't been fixed in all these years... It probably can't be with this engine :P

Meet http://i.imgur.com/iL1qIUN.png (I rp that his mustache style was named after him). Ex-military man that prefers to get up close and beat his enemies to death.

I'm not sure if I like http://i.imgur.com/Aeuszar.png or stick with bald beauty.

I originally planned on making a Mayor Mike Haggar then the Beast just sort of happened :)

looks great :) really mean :)

I took 2nd screenshot with glasses http://imgur.com/08YsqOZ

and I tried to create a male for 2nd playthrough, but I quite like one of the presets, and I just made minor changes. http://imgur.com/Tn8N1la

So I really admire all the pictures here. I didn't like women presets, except the default, so it took me a while to create my own for my first playthrough. But maybe I will work on that male character a bit more.

thanks.

It's funny how you only made minor changes to the guy you're playing but redesigned his wife. I did the same thing on my 1st attempt thinking I would see her again and then they killed my beautiful creation. :P

ha I couldn't give him muscles worthy of Mike Haggar so I just went for a brutal looking brother with the same stache

Finally got a halfway decent shot of my latest character. Only halfway - I forgot to disable the HUD.

http://i.imgur.com/wMlcu2a.png

There's a bit of a story behind this scene, but it's a bit long and spoilery, so I'll hide it in tags.

Spoiler
Codsworth and my lady superspy-in-training had put down about half a dozen ghouls in a massive firefight just outside a campsite that I've already forgotten the name of. It's the one downhill from Fort Hagen, with a bright neon light above it. Anyway, I thought we'd put down the bulk of the ghouls, so I started a trailer-by-trailer search to pick off sleepers.

I ended up missing one medium-distance snipe on a ghoul snoozing in a yard, and the shot woke up not only my target, but two other ghouls hiding in the trailer. No worries, I thought, Codsworth can tank them... except that that he couldn't. Somehow the three managed to make him sit down right quick. Maybe because one of them was glowing green... Nope, I'd never seen that before. I was still a bit shell-shocked from another ghoul-heavy mission where I got swarmed repeatedly (with a legendary in every pack), so, much as it hurts to admit it, I panicked and ran. I did manage to pick off the two normal ghouls, but I'd lured the glowing guy to the place where I'd slaughtered the other half-dozen.

You can probably see where this is going. I turned around to shoot, he raised his hands while exploding green everywhere, and the the half-dozen ghouls I'd already killed were back on their feet... and they were all in uncomfortably short range. From there it was a merry chase up the hills and back around. I knew I had to isolate the green guy somehow, so I targeted his left leg every time I had a chance. Finally he went down - but not out. He had a sliver of health left, but I was too hard-pressed by the other ghouls to finish him off. I left him in the hills and led the others in a dance around the camp, picking them off while dodging behind obstacles to block their flying tackles. Finally, eventually, I put them all down; the glowing guy is the only one left.

I wasn't happy. Mr. Green Genes had made a routine fight far more difficult than it should have been. So I ready my 10mm pistol (I had been using heavier hardware for the fight), and I walk, just walk, nice and slow to where I'd left him. I stood a few yards away and looked at him for a moment as he futilely reached for me. I then VATSed up, aimed a single shot, and snapped the picture just before his head exploded.

BTW, does anyone else have the same "dead hands" thing going on? They're a lot paler than the facial skin tone. I've seen it in conversational cut scenes as well.
