Showing your love for Skyrim;

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 8:45 am

allo allo everyone! I'm sure since you've joined the forums, read the tweets, GI, and watched the videos posted, and probably been stalking this like a creepy neighbor, you pretty much are dedicated to The Elder Scrolls. If you remember having a warm chuckle at the Guards in Oblivion, the feeling of finally getting to those friggin' gates, or if you're like me, taming a Unicorn and slaying shopkeepers, imagine the feeling you're gonna get when you finally get your hands on Skyrim.
So, I ask, is anyone doing anything special for the release? Like... LARPING! or.. er.. not larping, or just getting together with decent people and having an all-nighter.

I know what I'm gonna be doing. Ordering pizza and chicken wings and sitting up all night, playing dear Skyrim.

hoothoot~ :spotted owl:

11th of november is remembrance day over here in Britain, so I'm afraid the game release will have to take a backseat. Besides, I have a horrible feeling I'll be waiting until my birthday a huge 15 days later. Will seem like forever.

As closely (and excitedly) as I'm following the game, I'll probably end up doing something stupidly unrelated on release day and/or a few days after. Like I'll spend all day outdoors and come in tired and the forums, fan sites, etc will have exploded with Skyrim hours ago and I'll have to wait till after the weekend for my copy to arrive.

It always seems to happen like that.

I'll be all like
MUST. STAY. AWAKE. :toughninja:
but then I'll fall asleep for like hours, even though I told myself it was going to be a nap approx. 10 minutes long.

Mmm... pizza sounds good. I'll be getting lots of TK root beer too, they've been trying to card me for it if you believe that! Root beer! Let's see needs lots of chips and other not too messy finger foods to eat at the computer. Stuff that doesn't require cooking. I doubt the fiance will submit to feeding me as nice as that would be!

Skyrim looks CRAZY!! I'm sure you all want to build a time machine and head to that Nov.11 release date, like myself haha. Oblivion is 1 of the greatest games ever, but I'm betting that Skyrim will be the best elder scrolls game ever. Untill ES6 of course . The technology and craftsmanship of Skyrim is top notch and it will help set the bar for all games in the near future. But who knows,.. I haven't even played it yet. The elder scrolls is so f*cking awesom. If there is a girl out there who loves ES as much as i do, lets get married lol jk

Release date was friday right? Well, I'll have recently moved back to the UK for my second uni year, and that entire weekend will probably consist of nothing but laziness, pizza, KFC, shame and self-pity, perhaps a lapse in hygeine, and lots and lots of nonstop Skyrim.

I'll be a mess come my next class on monday

I will start the Holy Inquisition of the Elder Scrolls(HIES) and purge the unbelievers.

Does that make me a big enough fan?

Oh, yes! For the mods and I need the keyboard and mouse. I think my system will be able to handle Skyrim. *crosses fingers* If not, then fiance knows I'd be taking over the PS3 for an unkown amount of time. For both our sanity I'm pretty sure my PC is capable... Beth give us specs!

 Mead... I would do the same but apparently Mississippi does not allow it to be imported. For some unknown reason. Or at least I haven't been able to find a way to do so.

As for me it all depends on if my friends and I go to a midnight launch or not. If so: I'm going to convince him to bring his TV and Ps3 over so we can play at the same time and directly compare the Ps3 and 360 versions :D

Something special... hm. First it depends on how much law studies I have at that time, but I can most likely plan ahead :teehee:

To be honest, I'll probably wait to play Skyrim until a few days after its release... until some fundamental mods have come out. Like a transportation system mod; a mod that removes possible quest markers or compass icons, etc...
I care so much about this game that I want the first playthrough to be as good as possible, despite if it means I have to wait a bit.
I guess that's kind of something special, and showing my love to this game? :)

Well I certainly plan on playing for a few hours the first night... and then the weekend comes! I'll have to stock up on supplies if I plan on playing too long!

When I buy it Im going to have them giftwrap it.
Just for me.

When I get home Ill unwrap it and hug it. Seriously.
Then Im prolly gonna be at the xbox for about 48 hours.
When Im too tired to make sense of it anymore, Im going to bed, only to wake up 3 hours later and go: Why sleep when I can play Skyrim?

Pretty much this:
come back from school (or work if I have work after school), go to EB Games (Gamestop) straight away, get the game, order some pizza, get my bro to be at my place, order a pizza and root beer, then spend ALL NIGHT playing one character for both of us (yup, I did it in OB and it was really fun. just gotta watch who you do it too, or it might get boring)
And when the morning comes, we'll delete the savegame, go out a bit for some fresh air, he'll go back to his house, and I'll go back to playing it!

Of course, it's all scrapped if I got work on the 12th though...
