Shown a Lot?

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 4:17 am

First off I just want to say that I'm glad that Skyrim has been announced, and I'm so excited about all the information that has been revealed on Game Informer and on Bethblog. However, I remember the interview with Todd Howard on Aug 16 in Eurogamer when he stated, " When we show it, we want to show a lot, because there's a lot of game there to play right now." Other than the 20 or so screens on Gameinformer and some of the concept artwork, I still feel that we haven't been shown "a lot." Now that January is nearly over, how do you feel about how much has been shown? Do you think will see more in February? And when are they going to update the Elderscrolls website? It seems like they should might as well use the hub on GI as the official site. Just saying!

A lot of the hub updates have just been stating things already told in the GI article.
They've given a few new infos too though. Bits and bits, here and there.

In general, I'm very happy with how much have been shown... although I would have wanted some more "new" info in the hub updates.

I think we've had a lot for a game that isn't even out for 10 months

What were you expecting that you haven't had?

I didn't know you couldn't kill him. I do like that idea though now. One or two people for back-pathing.

Considering there's still roughly ten months until release, and considering some game companies don't even tell anything or communicate with their fanbase, I'd say Bethesda has been pretty forthcoming so far.

I hope there's more to come of course, but who knows? :)

They just need to release that batch of Game Informer screenshots to the public.

I suppose I would have liked to have seen more screens of races, parts of the major cities, dungeons, caves, etc. I'm not asking for everything in the game, but I thought they could have shown more.

I think they have given us quite a bit, especially considering how far out the game still is. They have to save some information, especially some of the good stuff, to be released over the next 10 months

I think we've been told too much. I like to leave a sense of adventure when first playing the game. I've only really read brief parts of what has been released, as well as enjoying the concept art.

I honestly love that so much has been released, but I think we've had more than enough for a game that's not out for 10months.

I think that they have shown us a fare bit considering that only 1 source has said anything about the game. I am sure that we will have a fare bit more info in the next few months as other sites and magazines are allowed to discuss the game

I think we've seen more than a lot. Much more than I expected in such short time and from here on I actually don't want to see much more than a couple of gameplay clips. I have a weak will so I have to read everything even if I don't want to know. I want the game to feel fresh and mysterious.

Once gameplay footage is seen, and we see all the races in game. It will be more satisfying.

Yes please!
Remember we've still a while to go yet - I don't expect a constant barrage of info up until release, but I bet they've got more for us. So far I've been pleased with the info.

To be honest, they really haven't "shown" that much at all... just a handful of good, but not amazing screenshots. They have talked a bit about it through GameInformer, but that info is also quite generic, lacking serious depth/detail for the most part. Of course thats generally expected for a game thats 10 months for release, but given Todd Howard's statement that they were going to show a lot when they started showing it.... I'd have to say thats not at all what Bethesda is doing, at least not yet. He might have ment over the first few months, but its over a month since Skyrims announcement and there is almost nothing to see about it out there... unless you buy a copy of Game Informer.

Once we see some new screenshots, and a gameplay trailer hit the net... then we can say Bethesda is really starting to show the game. But have they shown a lot to this point? No.
