ShowTutorialMenu

Do you know any situations where the tutorial menu is used? the one thats displayed when calling http://geck.gamesas.com/index.php/ShowTutorialMenu with any message. I checked the CG* scripts, the one that run in the beginning of the game, and i couldnt find instances where this command was used.

I believe that is used for those things like the first time you enter VATS, or have a cripples limb, or use a stimpak. Its a quest with global variables most likely. So it only shows them once. Just look through all the quests for the one that shows all them. I think other than that its almost the same as Showmessage just it can only show the tutorial 'book' pages so all you have to do is specify the page of it.

this would be the scn CGTutorialSCRIPT, but it only uses showMessage to display the tutorial messages. showMessage CGTutorialSneak, ShowMessage CGTutorialVATS, ShowMessage CGTutorialCripple etc

It gets used in a few spots but not often at all.

It's not unlike showmessage, except that you cannot pass variables into it (which is very unfortunate), and I believe there's no interactive buttons possible, just one {OK} sort of deal.

Lots more space to write stuff, but it's a noninteractive text dump.

Could you give me an example/hint where it's actually used? I'm not asking because i want to know how to use it/what it does, but simply because if it's never used for anything it would be possible to modify it (the xml) and use it for something else.

If you go to Edit > Find Text in the main bar, you can search for functions or text that is used in the GECK. When I type http://geck.gamesas.com/index.php/ShowTutorialMenu into it, I can see that http://geck.gamesas.com/index.php/ShowTutorialMenu is used by quest stage 212 of the quest CGTutorial. However it does not show any other uses for it.

Ah ok thanks, didnt think of that. the help menu also seems to use it :(

Ahhhh ok. My mod uses it for a couple things, if that counts? It'll use it a whole lot more in the FOOK imbedded version.
