They'll cure the initial disease, but once you're a vampire, it has to be cured a specific way.

Goto Magic
Go to Active Effects
Red = Bad
Click Shine, does effect go away? It should.

Only if you still didn't turn into one. If you have turned already, you need to find a cure quest.
