Just a little review of Lively followers. It's a nice little mod, but there is one problem with it if you compare it to how Serana behaves. If you have Serana with you and walk into a tavern, she will interact with this, and this mod does the same for your followers. However, whenever you take one step, your follower will run back to you, and if you stop for a little while again, they will go do their thing again. Now, Serana doesn't keep running back to you all the time, she actually stays doing whatever she is doing until you leave. Your follower instead reacts all the time to every step you take, making it a bit comical in the end. Is there any way to change this type of behaviour from happening in taverns and your homes?

Side-by-side comparison indicates Serana does the same thing, which is to be expected considering that the scripts controlling the feature are practically identical.

Once the player is "settled," there's a very small radius that they can move in. Moving outside that radius cause the follower to begin following again. So, running, even perceived small distances, will cause followers to get up to follow.

Serana may appear to be idling longer because (thanks to her unique method of following unassociated with the DialogueFollower quest) she can use bard performance reaction markers, which may require her to finish her idle before moving.

Also bear in mind that her follow package has larger minimum and maximum distances to keep with the player. If she's on the edge of the distance, she won't move to get closer to the player, giving her the appearance of being in no hurry.

Normal follower distance: min 256, max 384
Dark Brotherhood follower distance: min 128, max 256
Serana following distance: depending on which quest you're on in Dawnguard's main quest... min 120, max 170; min 300, max 400; min 375, max 550.

The female DB follower doesn't seem to realize your mod is loaded. She's just standing there, like the same old boring lump she's always been. Serana even had to teleport past her to reach a sandbox target. I wasn't moving either. Standing perfectly still at the Whiterun blacksmith area, so plenty of available sandbox items.

Since the sandbox package is based on Serana's, a follower may choose to "wander" -- pace between spots, which may entail simply sidling up next to the player, or standing still.

And I just checked all the packages and such -- the conditions should work, assuming her alias is filled (which it should be -- it matches Initiate2Alias in the DarkBrotherhood quest, which is start game enabled and requires that alias to run), but I'll check right now. I know the male initiate works.

Hey, wait, you've got both Serana and the female initiate? People have been saying that you can have both (I think because her asking to follow in DLC1VQ08Post isn't checking follower count?), which may do strange things to the PlayerFollowerCount global.*

Check if PlayerFollowerCount is 1 or greater.

*I never touch this in the script, so if it's not one but you have a follower, I call Serana shenanigans.

PlayerFollowerCount is currently 1 with Serana and the female initiate.

Hmm. Since my copy's the release, and the female initiate sandboxes for me, I can't figure out why she won't do the same for you.

She may be merely wandering -- does "sqv PSFollowerIdleExplore" indicate that PlayerSettled = true?

Then the quest is working properly; the initiate has simply chosen not to move.

Perhaps try in Dragonsreach, near the throne? That's a good place to test because of all the chairs.

Alright, now I'm somewhat confused -- Change Follower Outfits has been hidden. I certainly never intended for that to happen, and I've not yet received notification that anything's wrong, so I've no idea what's up.

I've changed it back until I receive some sort of notification. I hope I'm not in any sort of trouble.

On the topic of Change Followe Outfits:

Will Serana actually wear the gear I give her with it? Why doesn't she ever wear stuff in vanilla? I made her these sweet enchanted boots and she taunts me with them dangling out of her back pocket, unworn /frown.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

What's the quality of the boots you're trying to give her? Her vampire boots are equivalent to leather, so she'll equip anything stronger than that.

With my mod, if she won't wear them, take her old pair away.

Actually, if it's enchanted vamp boots you're trying, take her pair away, enchant them or smith them, or both, and give them back. She'll wear them even when not following.

If you were it wouldn't have been possible for you to reverse the change. Nexus was having a lot of trouble with errors falsely reporting mods as hidden by the authors last month. Perhaps that's not entirely resolved yet?

Well, I did go back and edit the description -- the font from Word doesn't transfer certain symbols over, like apostrophes and quotation marks, and there were backslashes all over the place -- and it's possible I goofed and accidentally hid it.

Update to "Playable Alternate Thieves Guild Armor" -- Tonilia can now upgrade the variant armor. Yay extending scripts.

I've also chosen a different Nexus avatar, which I hope Arthmoor won't mind.

...Huh. I thought I did... how do you change the avatar used on the download pages?

Update to "Playable Alternate Thieves Guild Armor" -- added keywords so that the new armors work with the "Matching Set" perk; you may now specify exactly which piece of armor you want Tonilia to upgrade.

Update to "Change Follower Outfits" -- followers should now continue to wear what was given them when dismissed.

This script was a real PIA to do; please report any CTDs when hiring or dismissing followers.

Update to "Lively Followers"; corrected a script oversight where follower's AI packages were being evaluated when they were waiting and interrupting certain sandbox behaviors.

Been a while, hasn't it?

I've only had two vanilla followers and one mod-added follower with Lively Followers, and oddly enough, Lydia doesn't really feel any need to wander when bored. Argis the Bulwark, however, will wander of his own accord, as will mod-added Cerwiden.

As for your previously hidden file, that seems to be a Nexus error--Arthmoor's Ars Metallica mod eventually went hidden and he didn't set it, so you weren't the only one to experience that.

Slew of updates.

Generated SEQ files for most works; optimized No Permanent Essentials (use at own risk if you aren't using 1.8 beta and USKP beta); optimized New Vamp Plus and added ability to turn previously-ineligible spouses*; corrected small bug in Lively Followers.

Users with access to TES5Edit and/or willing to put up with the CK's method of generating them can create their own SEQ files; updates to Appropriately... and Change Follower Outfits (three of four files) were purely to add SEQ files.
