SIAP: Future DLC Price

Post » Sun Jun 06, 2010 10:06 am

Does anyone have any news on what the prices will be for the DLC? I honestly cannot justify spending an additional 800msp on 3 more DLC packs, if the price is 560msp or less I will definitely be getting all 3. Sorry if this has been discussed already, I just have a limited gaming budget so I'm really hoping they'll cut us a small break on these DLC prices

yeah I figured. I guess I'll just wait until they put out a bundle with all of them on it, and buy it off someone on craigslist. I just can't justify paying 60 for a game, then 40 more on top of that for it

$10 is very reasonable for the amount of content you get.

I agree, it keeps you playing for a couple of hours, there are some games out there that sell for $60 and don't even take 4 hours.

800mp seems reasonable, however i'm hoping atleast one DLC will be large like the DA:Awakening one, even if it costs 2400mp, i'd gladly spend 30$ for a huge add-on.

Or how about games with $15 multiplayer add-ons that give you terrible maps to play on?

*cough*Call of Duty*cough*

Although, I did like that Ascension map...

It's reasonable to assume 10 dollars, but there is always the possibility of larger, and therefore more expensive DLCs. None of us know for certain.

lol it's awesome to see how many people will just blindly buy a DLC because it's put out there

So it's acceptable to shoot for just above the bare minimum?

Activision is able to do the bare minimum for add on material, and sell over a million downloads at 15 bucks a pop, and since it's multiplayer it technically could add hundreds of hours of gameplay. But is that what the industry should aim for, and what gamers should expect and accept from the industry? I thought that Dead Money was a quality DLC, but I'm not able to spend 30 dollars or more extra on this game for a little bit of extra content with how expensive games are as is.

Don't get me wrong I was really psyched about Homefront and thought the idea behind it was genius, I even went to the midnight release. Unfortunately I'd beaten the game on hard before daylight and it felt like the story was just getting good when it abruptly ended. I feel sorry for anyone who played on easy as they probably got through it in 3 hours or so. Its the only 360 game I've ever actually sold, I got rid of it the next day so I could get still get my money back while it was new. If you wanna talk about ripoff DLCs you should look no further than Homefront's "battle code". If you didn't buy the game new you have to pay out the ass just to level up and get new weapons in multiplayer, that my friend is BS.

If you like the game you'll be willing to spend more money to prolong its life. I'm basically bored to tears with New Vegas right now with several hundred hours on the clock there's nothing left to do. I'll buy the DLC so I can get new weapons/equipment and experience the storyline because it will allow me to enjoy the game again. Its better than Fable 3's "dye packs" or Mass Effect 2's "appearance packs". Lionhead and Bioware basically pioneered the art of doing the bare minimum with their DLCs.

As a fan of the game, yes, I will absolutely get all DLCs. Not "blindly", but because I want some good Fallout content. Dead Money was well worth the money to me and was a memorable gaming experience in general, so I don't mind spending more money on the game to get more of that.
