I am sick of it.

I am damn sick and tired of the talk and the Command option being separate. Every god forsaking time i want to talk---especially at Fort Hagen---I get the freaking god-damn command option instead of the talk option. For me this a [censored] game killer. I am sick of it! I am sick of it! I am sick of it! Fix it Bethesda god-damn it?!?

If Bethesda was to solve every little whiney nitpick they need to release a patch once a week for 3 years, man up and learn to like it.

Ya its like 4 options just is not enough in conversations. Like they should overhaul the whole chat system like in everyone else's thread.

I get his beef but the solution is to make sure you're standing close to the companion, command mode only kicks in if you're standing far away.

My biggest issue especially where Fort Hagen is involved is that I absolutely hate the dog. I had Curie, as the robot, with me and I wanted to take her and not the freaking dog. I could have been standing on top of Curie and I still get the god-damn command option. All because the freaking dog is now available as a companion. So, I had to send Curie back to Sanctuary. I get through the Fort Hagen quest and now Curie is no where to be found. I have checked every where. And, I am still stuck with that mangy freaking mutt.

=/ If that's true, mine is bugged. I have to select command regardless of location or distance from companion.

I just blow through the whole story, drink some whisky and pretend it never happened like a bad hang over and just do radiant quests without speech options.

The one thing that kills me about all this is when you try to talk to a companion and they keep moving and you can never lock on to them. I get so frustrated trying to talk to Piper to trade items with her and she keeps moving. And that annoyed "O-kaaay." thing she does when finally are able to latch on to her to tell her to "stay" so she doesn't keep getting you killed. If any of you have ever been with someone for any length of time, you know how that 'tone' is like nails on a chalkboard. LOL

It's the same situation when you get someone dead center in the crosshairs of a scoped sniper gun that is modded to the max and completely miss or when you are in VATS and you have a 90% chance of hitting a limb and you put 6 rounds of 10mm ammo in the limb and miss. It's almost as if something is awry with the aiming/targetting system that effects all aspects of where you have your mouse/controller pointing.

Or maybe it's by design, or maybe I just svck. I still love the game though and can't imagine ever quitting it. I can't imagine playing any other game right now to be honest, and usually I have several going at once.

I hope you find a way to cope with it, or maybe a mod will come out. I can't wait to see what happens with consoles. I thought I heard/read/saw somewhere that they are unlocking it so you can mod the PS4.

Yes I think it is bugged. Staying very close to a companion works for me too.

I haven't found Curie yet so I don't know if this applies, but with Strong and some of the other larger/taller characters you have to target their face. You might be standing close enough but not actually talking "to" them. I'm noticing the same thing with Codsworth since he's higher off the ground, I usually have to talk to his hat to get the dialogue otions.

You had to have the dog for that particular part of the story, I don't think you have to use him after that. I'm not finished with the MQ, but there is at least one other time you have to take a certain companion with you for story reasons. And in the future, when you drop a companion use the dismiss option and you can choose where to send them. I use sanctuary to keep them in one place. If you don, they should go back to wherever you originally found them. The system is definitely a pain and takes some getting used to. Though I certainly wouldn't stop playing because of the companions. Like the settlements, its only a tiny part of the game for me

I dislike the fact that the "Talk" option and the "Command" option are separate, for one. Number two, There seems to be a lot of flaws in the game, not necessarily bugs. It seems like every companion possess the same monotone when they respond to your question: “I just wanted to check in to see how our relationship is going.”

Monotone Response: “Duh…..blah…..blah….blah.”

There is no reflection in their voice. No happy to being here with you: “You’re boring me with constant questions about my thoughts and our relationship.”

Thus, In the immortal words of Commander Shepard: “Nice talking to ya!”

Right about now I am getting tired of Curie's remaining robot voice. I am ready to start a new game and forget about romancing Curie. Piper I can tolerate, to a degree. Cait's attitude never changes after she is cured of her addiction. He attitude remains, "It is all about me and mine."

I think I am going to spend some time creating my new character just the way I want her: Or, better still play another game.

The few times I actually bother with a companion, I found that if the "command" arrows are flashing, but I wanted to talk to them, I am just a few steps too far away. I move in a bit and viola the flashing go there arrows turn into the dialogue wheel.

Am I only one who fancied Curie more before her quest? She was my sixy French 3 eyed floating robot, then suddenly the magic was gone.

I'm not sure Cait changing drastically would have worked though. And she still drinks like a fish.

both piper and cait look real slinky wearing the red dress or half naked.

as to going to Fort Hagen, dogma can be just a temp sidekick. that is he can be just a temporary tag a long. so you don't have to dismiss the regular sidekick.

Been using the mutt and basically have to tell him come and stay at my feet so I can have the dialog option pop-up and stay open. Hope I can treat the other duffusses in the same way without them getting pissed.off at me.
