How will EAX control affect my very favourite sound mods? (I tusned off Oblivion music forever to enjoy the sounds of the game):
1F Natural_Habitat_by_Max_Tael.esp
++ Symphony of Violence.esp
.
.
.
24 AmbientTownSounds.esp
25 MIS Low Wind.esp
26 MIS New Sounds Optional Part.esp
27 Atmospheric Oblivion.esp

I am re-opening this thread, as I know people use this mod and have questions and need support. The forum rules do need to be followed - that means be civil to each other, if you have a criticism, pose it constructively. If you are frustrated by someone's not understanding something, take a break and come back to it when you have more patience, etc.

nice point of view... please excuse me that i use a video with the mod actually working like it should. ;)

to solve such a problem you should at least consider the mistake at your side. i'm sure this is not a problem of the effect volume. try the console commands! run oblivion in xp mode! check the oblivion eax log in the obse folder!

besides this i personally (which means i don't want to discuss this) recommend to upgrade to windows 7 which is much better and more stable, etc... this may fix your issue as a side effect...

My Oblivion EAX log shows this:

Checking if OblivionEAX is compatible with your version of ObSE and Oblivion
Registering OblivionEAX commands with ObSE

This seems to suggest it is working. The console commands don't throw up errors but don't change anything sound wise either.

My soundcard is pretty cheap, a Sound Blaster Audigy, but EAX works on other games I've tried. Enabling ALchemy for Oblivion gave me 3D sound so it would suggest that my sound card is EAX enabled.

Also tried running in compatability mode, no luck with that either.

I'm running latest version of OBSE (18).

I'm stumped.

Thank you. It seems both sides specially the modder was a bit more rude. The modder has the right to be frustrated but he's going to have a short career in modding with that kind of attitude even if he's correct. There are a lot of good modders out there but few professionals who can deal with great and dumb questions.

Due to previous bad conduct on the part of several members, this thread is being watched closely. I am leaving the quoted post gibbeted as an example of exactly the kind of post that must not be made.

Confine all discussion in this thread to the content of the mod and questions and assistance involving its use. All other posts will be deleted and may result in suspensions. Posts discussing the motives of other members for posting as they may have done are specifically prohibited.

EAX control does not affect ANY mod. it only controls the Oblivion EAX plugin, which adds the environment effect.
NO SOUNDS are added to the game or replaced, so this mod can't conflict. just all 3D sounds get the EAX effect added in realtime.

3D sound is not EAX. and as i wrote before i have tried 3 different sound cards that claimed to have EAX support, but none worked with oblivion. keep in mind that EAX is not natively supported by the oblivion engine!

Oh well - thanks for being around to answer questions anyway. Guess I'll just have to file this one under 'just doesn't work for me for some reason'. Shame as it does look (sound) like a great mod, and if you've got the right set up I'm sure it works fine.
