Sidequest in NV

Post » Tue Sep 15, 2009 12:41 am

I think I go with NV then, thanks for answering :D
One moore question though, my favorite game is Oblvion, and i loved to visit small towns and sleep in inns.
I actually missed that in fallout, I know it didnt "fit" with the harsch landscape but has it changed in NV?

nooo stick with Fallout 3 since you haven't played it to much i say you should. F03 is a game doesn't get as repetitive unless you play for 2 months straight
Fallout new vegas might be fun the first time you play it but gets rather boring after, i say wait till the GOTY edition for NV comes out

But there are faction patrols and territories, where they preside, you are looking at it in two dimensions "always random encounters" or "no random encounters", NV has something similar to Random Encounters that doesn't get you attacked every time you come over the crest of a hill, faction territories.

Both games are good for different reasons. If you like one, you will like the other.

It is easy to ignore the MQ in both games, although you want to complete the first act of New Vegas's MQ no matter what. However after that you can ignore it and play to your hearts content. I think there is more to explore in FO3 than in FONV, at least there are no Metro tunnels in NV to worry about.
That's pretty much my take on the two. It helps that FO3 is larger, or at least appears larger.

It pretty much boils down to, do you want exploration with more random battles and a more wasteland feel, or faction driven play with a mostly static world in a pretty civilized area for a post-apocalyptic world? The former would be more FO3, the latter would be more NV. I love both, and there is plenty to do. Though. it is nice to be around more people in NV, where as the wastelands can be pretty lonesome at times.

I maybe should pointout that I not really find it funny to fight. I like to talk myself out of situations :)

Yes lots of boredom and tons of not having fun.

I feel exactly opposite.

Stop using opinions as a basis for your arguments.

@Lusen

I can also vouch for NV. F3 was nice and all, but NV seems to be a superior Role-Playing experience in my opinion. Dont let the amount of "waaaaa its boring no assplushns" crowd get on ya.

Or better, dont listen to us, get the game and see for yerself! :foodndrink:

Calm down. You had tons of fun talking to people for hours and not seeing a single enemy. Doenst sound like much fun at all. More people get bored of FNV than F3.

You're talking like videogames should be all about shooting.

Since obviously Personal Opinion = The Absolute Truth I shall state mine:

I played FNV before F3, liked it lots, bought F3 because of it.
I got bored of F3 halfway, went for another FNV playthrough.

OBVIOUSLY, this means everyone else MUST feel the same or be horribly WRONG. Stop having fun, people! :verymad:

But seriously, I like both games. I play FNV more, because I can't relate to F3 characters much if at all, and because I like being able to choose which side will shoot me on sight and which won't. If I want more shooting, I go play COD. But that's just, you know, me.

Okay, so today im finally getting it :D
16 dollars, really cheap for 100+ hours you can put in the game.
I also finished the MQ in FO3 yesterday. And when I played, I took paueses from the game alot. It wasnt just enough too keep me entertained. The atmosphere was amazing. For example, when you followed liberty prime around and listened to "im in love".
That was really epic. The one thing that disturbed me was the quests and things to do, as I stated, im not really that guy who loves shooting and dungouns.
In Oblvivion, I could spend hours and hours and not even touch the mainquest. ( Becuse it was so boring :P ). In FO3, the MQ wasnt superb either, but you couldnt really ignore it like Oblivion, becuse basicly, there werent as much to do.
