"Shut your mouth!" Khasar shouted at Henry, "If we were to stay here, we would all be dead, our lines are overstretched enough as it is, we can't hold onto posistions because we felt like taking them." Khasar looked at the rest of his squad with a scowl on his face, "Remeber, it's a battle, there will be problems, specially since we do not have radios."

Khasar climbed back up over the enemy trench, "Now get your arses back across right now!"

[OCC: Ok. Blackmane's post appeared before mine. So, that kinda' messed me up. So, let's just disregard what I said earlier.]

"Yes, Captain!" Leon then crosses the enemy trench right behind Khasar. He then cocks his gun, but notices 3 remaining wounded enemy mercs in the distance, he grabs a frag off his belt, pulls the pin throws it right between them, and ends up killing them. "That was easy..."

((I'm confused, I thought we were back at base already))

Henry retreated and was once again reminded of the vast tech difference. In the Enclave everyone had a radio, now he had to make do without. "Fall back!" Henry personally did not like Leon being an untested young officer and the only only reason he followed his orders were because he was superior. If I had command... Henry returned to his trench and turned to see that they had left the enemies confused. They had struck and even though it was violating a direct order, Leon had managed to leave the enemy in disarray. Henry thought it wasn't such a bad first day. After all, it wasn't the Army, it was a merc group. He got paid for it and could leave any time he chose.

[OCC: I believe we are, but if you got confused because of my frag, Leon threw at 3 wounded mercs. Also, Officer Norman I was wondering if you could clarify a few things for me. Does Henry hate leon because he's 18 and a lieutenant. And, I wouldn't call him untested, because he's done (and witnessed) so many brutal things in the wasteland.]

James climbing back up over the trench and followed Khasar and Leon. He crouched behind another destroyed car and killed three soldiers with his M4. Jemes then threw a Frag Grenade into a machine gun nest, killing everything inside.

((yes he hates him because he is 18 and a lieutenant but he won't openly show it. It makes for a more interesting story))

Henry sat down down and watched James kill the stragglers. He took the quick break to refill his ammo and drink some water. Picking his gun back up Henry got on the MG and provided covering fire as the squad returned to the trench. Night had truly fallen by now and Henry couldn't see anything other than the muzzle flash of the enemies. Calling to Khasar he said "Sir! I think they're retreating!" Hopefully with nightfall the fighting would die down and they could get resupplied, Henry was running out of ammo and was sure that everyone could use a hot meal, it would certainly be good for morale.

[OCC: Makes sense, but what's age got to do with anything?]

Leon scanning the area for anymore hostiles..He could see quite well in the dark.."Hmm, it appears no one is left..." Thinking to himself. He grabs a bottle of Whiskey, and strapps his assault rifle to his back. He then grabs his magnum and holds with the other hand just in case.."I don't think anyone is left, but I keeping my guard up just in case.."

OOC: Its HIGHLY unlikely that an 18 year old would be a lieutenant, I think that's why Henry would be mad.

Ellie snapped to Henry's orders, quickly grabbing the box of razor wire while trying to stay out of enemy fire. Just as quickly as she had been ordered to put up the razor wire Khasar told her to ignore Henry's orders. Then once she put it back Theo asked for some to be set up by him. She thought of protesting, but he was a higher rank, and frankly he intimidated her. At this point Ellie didn't have much energy. Sluggishly, she began setting up the wire around Theo's area. As she finished the squad, including her, was scolded for losing their chain of command.

It was beyond Ellie why she was being scolded when she was the victim of the mistake. Instead of listening intently, she looked at the magazine on her P90, it was more than half empty. Oddly enough she didn't kill anyone with the rounds she used. She'd injured a few, but for the most part she just kept them at bay. She just didn't have the will to take another person's life. Thoughtlessly she pulled the magazine out and put a full one in, then pulled back the action.

Once they were dismissed Ellie felt tired, she wasn't trained to carry crates of razor wire back and forth across the battlefield. The darkness of the night didn't help her much either. Sometimes while standing guard in the trench she would feel her eyes close. She never knew how long they closed, but they opened eventually only to close again.

((Thanks for explaining that for me))

Henry took out his flare gun and fired it off into enemy territory just in case. He saw nothing but a few shuffling shapes. Henry turned to see Leon taking out a bottle of whiskey. "Hey Lieutenant I don't think you should be drinking on the job," Henry saw a supply wagon arrive and Henry stocked up on some ammo and received a can of Brahmin and beans packaged by the still functioning factory in Chicago. Henry stuffed it in his pack and instead wolfed down a mirelurk cake quickly. "We need to watch out for enemy infiltrators now. He saw Ellie doze off and he let her go this time, she did her job admirable today. Soon she would need to be handling high explosives and flamethrowers for the next offensive or raiding mission.

[OCC: Hey, it's still possible. Look at Lafayette from the American Revolution, he was 19, and high ranked. But, either way it doesn't matter atm.]

He notices Henry yelling at him. "I just found it here, Seargant, and I had planned on saving it for later." After that looted all the ammo he could find from dead mercs. "I wouldn't be surprised if any reinforcements came for a final fight, so be prepared." *He stands on the higher ground keeping a lookout for any reinforcements.*

Khasar was back in the forward trench, it was quieting down now, mortor shells could be heard off in the distance, they were planning on attacking another section of the trench now it. "Squad!" Khasar shouted, "Back to the communication trenches." Khasar made his way back through the maze of the trench line and getting back to the command tent. Peering in he could see someone had taken his seat, "You are?" Khasar asked.
The man smiled at him, "Commander Vallis," He replied, "Now, I've also got orders from that witch sybil that you and your squad are to go to her, special assignment I assume."

Khasar thought about how convenient that this new commander arrived just after the fighting, "Yes sir," Khasar said and backed out the tent. Instead of the whistle, Khasar sent out runners, telling everyone to come to the aid station behind the trenchline, he'll would move them off from there. Khasar grabbed his gear from the neighbouring tent which he had been using and made his way back, behind their lines.

Leon had sort of dozed off, but being a light sleeper wakes to hear a runner coming toward him. "I wonder who that is." "Go to the aid station, Captain's orders." said the Runner. "Alright." Leon grabs his gear and gun, and heads over to the aid station. He notices the Captain, and speaks to him. "What are the orders, sir?"

A hand shook Ellie's shoulder. Slowly she stirred, trying to identify the person that had just woke her up. It was dark though, making it quite hard to identify anything. She gave up on the task.

"Can I help you?" she asked groggily.

The runner told her, "You need to get over to the aid station, Captain wants to see you."

Ellie gave a slight nod to the man and he left. She was still leaning against the wall she had fallen asleep on. The wind came, blowing cold air into the cracks of her armor and her face. The chilling wind encouraged her to leave, and she did so. It wasn't a very long walk back to the aid station, and before she knew it she pushed the flap open on the tent.

"Sir," Ellie said to Khasar.

Ellie stood to the side of the doorway waiting for orders, and trying to looks presentable.

Khasar nodded at Ellie as she came in, he was sitting at a desk, writing notes of what he thought of the new soldiers put under his command. Khasar frowned as he heard a blood curdling scream from behind a screen. Seems they were running low on painkillers, most procedures would be very painful, it was a good reason to try and not get shot at all. Khasar listened as the screams die away, leaving a unsettling silence.

A women, one of the medical staff came out of the screen, blood coating the front of her clothes, she had a sad face, seems another one had been lost. Khasar went back to his notes and didn't even both to look up as two people came in and took away the body. Khasar sighed as they left, this war had cost peple many lives, on both sides, but here everyone body lost made it difficult, and people were deserting everyday.

Henry was glad when they were given the order to go to the aid station. Trench warfare was for grunts. Henry walked back until he reached the communications tent and saw the commander "What going on sir?"

Theo had covered Ellie while she set up the razor wire. He cocked an eyebrow as she went back over to listen to Khasar chew out the others. Both he and Ellie had done right. He shurgged it off, and when Khasar gave the order to fall back to the communications tent, he heeded him, and started back, although slower than some of the others. Eventually, he was met about halfway by a runner. "You Farmer?" he asked, eyeing the tattoo around Theo's eye. Theo raised both eyebrows and responded "Who wants to know?" The runner uneasily shifted his weight from one foot to the other and responded "Your needed over by the aid station." Theo chuckled and mused aloud "So the captain got booted out by a commander eh?" The runner didn't answer and moved off.

Farmer changed direction and headed towards the aid station. He followed a particularly blood-curdling scream there. Theo arrived, but hung back in the doorway, observing the situation. He decided to comment. "No painkillers?" he started, looking around "Well, you could probably use whiskey or scotch or something, but the men would probably mutiny." The right corner of his mouth curled up in a smile. He didn't expect to get any laughs in the situation, but he had to distance himself with the comment to avoid being really affected by it. As for the battle before, Theo found it ironic that although he was the insubordinate one, he had performed properly on the battlefield, while the ones who had chastised him before weren't following orders. He also was skeptical of the lieutenant who was younger than even him who claimed to be so experienced, yet hasn't reflected it. Farmer eventually dropped his thinking and waited for a responce to his precense.

Leon noticing Farmer walk in..Thought too himself, I know this guy doesn't like me, and Henry Jones..He looks down upon me because of my age. Leon knew he worked hard and has been through enough to know he was deserving. He then turns to Farmer and says "You did good out there, Farmer.." Even though he still didn't like the guy at all. Leon steps away from the rest of the squad, but still mainting eye contact with the Captain..

[OCC: Also, guys I can tell i'm under scrutiny in this RP. And, i'd like an honest answer..Am I doing a [censored] job? Or, is just that my character is 18?]

Khasar closed his note book and stood up, "Okay everyone," Khasar said, "Quieten down, we are being pulled for the frontlines, you'll get a break and then we're most likely back into the thick of it." Khasar waited for awhile for it to sink in, "We'll have our own quarters set up, I'll show you when we get there," Khasar told them, "Then you can do anything you like, get plastered for all I care, as long as you don't cause any trouble, any questions?"

((no on it is simply that my char needs your char to to do something to earn his respect, its all good, just part of the RP :) ))

Henry listened to the new and the only thing left to say was "No questions, lets go!" Henry was eager to get out of the frontlines and put somewhere where his talents would be put to good use. "Also our payments are due in 1 week. It'll be good to get another paycheck." Henry jingled his bag of caps for effect and walked out the tent "Lets move it!"

"That's good news to hear Captain. Also, how is the battle status, Do we have the upperhand as of now?" Leon couldn't wait to get of the trenches, even though it was like a home away from home to him, seeing as though for the past 6 years he really had no true home, he grew up a nomad without anyone..

James, having just heard their new orders after coming in, said, "So it's out of the meat grinder and into the fire. Either way, that means a whole new bunch of angry bastards trying to kill us, and I'll be pointman, just as I like it." James said, "Is there anything more sir or are we free to go?"

"At least we have a better chance in special recon missions where our talents can be put to use instead of being wasted on the frontlines." Henry was looking forward to a field where he could command better than just simply "get in a line and shoot everything not wearing silver."

A break was all Ellie needed. She left the aid station with the others, throwing the tent flap of the tent she was staying in, setting her equipment by her bedside, and dropping into the cot almost instantly.

Ellie's sleep wasn't very peaceful though. All through the night she heard the screams of people dying, her companions and her enemies. Each scream she heard made her feel weaker and soon she felt so weak she disappeared into nothingness. She sprung up out of the cot in a cold sweat.

It was just a dream, pull it together girl, she thought to herself.

Ellie groaned as she fell back into a laying position. This time she couldn't fall asleep instantly, but it came, eventually.

Khasar made his way to the mess hall, it was really a tent with a few tables put in. Khasar took a seat at one of the tables, it was early mornings, the sun only just rising. Khasar prefered to be up early, allowed him to get up and around before everyone else was up and about, and it also didn't mean he would spend most of his day with Sybil, or making usre everything is done, for Sybil. The Silver Shields leader's second in command was Sybil, she didn't deserve the posistion, but through certian avenues she made her way to the top, very quickly, some say because she is sleeping his his bed.

Khasar shrugged the thoughts away and started to eat at the breakfast, there were a few people around with sullen faces, the war has taken a toll one almost everyone has been effected by, even in the outskirts of the city. It was just a good job that it hadn't spread into the wasteland, otherwise the settlements scattered around would be destroyed.
