Siege

((OOC: Well starting a new RP based in Chicago around a Mercenary group which is underseige by other mercenary groups. Just put your character sheet in here and I will look at it and make my descsion on it.

Rules: Usual really;
1. No controlling over people's character without permission
2. Your character is human, not superman so not go round being doing something which shouldn't be possible

Feel free to add to the plot, just make sure that it doesn't go too much out of the way of whats going on.

I want certian ranks within the group as they will form a small special forces squad. My character will be captian, looking for someone to be lieutenant. These two characters will know each other reasonably well having fought together for sometime. The other ranks are sergant, corperal or private, some can be newcomers to the squad, or been in it for awhile.

Well thats all to say, enjoy yourselves.))

The Brotherhood of Steel had kept Chicago in check and under their control for over one hundred years, but being where they were made it difficult to get new gear and as most recruits were from the local population they were not the best trained. A few years ago many raider and merc groups forced the brotherhood out. The Silver Shields, they name being there for them painting their armour primarily silver and toughening it to give them selves more protection. The attack on the brotherhood was to allow more trade, specially for slaves and drugs which the brotherhood had clamped down on.

The Silver Shields after the succesful battles against the brotherhood to force them out, the mercenary group set up in the west district, with the north, south and east district being settled in by the other three stronger groups. The other mercenary groups banded together to deal with the Silver Shields after a few years as the Silver Shields have grown rich and powerful, even having large influence in outer lying settlements, which is liked as the group gives good protection and are generally liked.

The Silver Shield mercenaries have now been under seige for six months by the other groups, and are fighting a losing battle, they have lost over half their district and have turned the war into trench warefare, no side being moved from their positions. The companions have been formed in the last two months to make more covert operations, as well as bolster lines where needed. At the time only two squads of six have been formed, though with a recent battle, omega squad has lost most of it's squad...

((Use this character sheet if you will:

Name:Khasar Temu
Age: 28
Rank: Captian

Armour: Combat armour, painted silver, and has been reinforced with metal plates on the other area, shoulder pads have been replaced with a set of loose metal plates which are linked together.
Weapons: M1A1 Thompson. A cuvered sword created himself (Think scimiter).
Equipment: One drum magazine and three stick magazines for his smg.

Apperance: Khasar is of far eastern decent and is about 5"6. He is clean shaven and has shot dark brown hair.
Personality: Generally friendly to his squadmates, though can be bloodthirshty in battle.

History: Khasar had spent most of his childhood roaming around the wasteland around chicago, an orphan. At the age of twelve he was adopted by a man who found him roaming around. The man was part of the Silver Shields and Khasar had spent his days when he was old enough fighting for the group and working his way up the ranks through his leadership qualities as well as being able to get the job done.

Well post your character sheet if you want to join, don't need alot of people.))

(Hey Blackmane, its been a while)

Name: Theo Farmer
Age: 19
Rank: Corporal

Armour: Silver Shield Combat Armor
Weapons: M249 SAW, Desert Eagle Mark XIX .44, and two trench knives
Equipment: Five 20 round 7.62 ammo, eight boxes of .44 calibur ammo, two .45 ACP 100-round Type C drum magazine, four clips of 5.56mm ammo, three boxes of 5.7x28mm ammo. He keeps the 7.62s on him, as well as two boxes of .44s, but the rest is carried in a seperate ammo box.

Apperance: Theo's skin is heavily tanned from working under the sun his whole life. He is heavily muscled for his age. He is a tall young man, about 6'1. Farmer's hair used to be brown, but it has been sun-dyed blond and cut short. His eyes are a light brown color. His arms and chest are decorated with tribal tattoos, as well as a small open-ring tattoo around his left eye.

Personality: Theo is a huge smart-ass. Most things that come out of his mouth are either cocky, sarcastic, or skeptical. This can cause some antimosity towards him, but he doesn't mean to offend by it. Most people who really know him say he's an ass, but a likable one. Theo is good at keeping his cool under stress, especially firefights. His thinking is more anolytical, allowing him to take in many things at once. He has no problem with killing in battle, as those who die in battle are honored by his people, so he assumes its the same with others. Outside of battle, he wouldn't hurt a fly until the fly lands on him.

History: Farmer was born in a tribal village near Chicago. He was taught to shoot as soon as he could pick up a gun. Battle was considered the highest honor a person could have, and the warriors in his village were highly regarded. Theo worked as anything the village needed until he was 15 and was deemed worthy to become a warrior. He and the other warriors would go out of the village to get supplies needed for the village. Theo was quickly recognized as a skilled young warrior, even better than some of the advlts. When he was 16, he was deemed the best warrior in his village. However, shortly after that, his village started to be attacked by raiders. Eventually, most of the other warriors in the village were killed. They were forced to enlist the help of the Midwestern Brotherhood of Steel. Their only condition was that they could recruit some of the village's warriors. Naturaly, they chose Farmer. After about a year with the BOS, he left them to try and get back to his village, however, it had been razed to the ground. He wandered the area until he happened upon the Silver Shields. With nothing else to do, Theo deceided to use his fighting skills to their advantage, and joined them. He currently functions as the quartermaster. Theo has been demoted twice during his time with the Silver Shields.

Edited in the quartermaster part, and yes the name and position is the same as the dead Reily's Rangers guy, but thats about the only similarity. Also changed 1 combat knife to 2 trench knives

Armour: Black and silver recon armor (much stronger than the average recon armor.) Rarely wears his helmet only for extreme battles.

Weapons: He carries his own powerful version of a Chinese Assault Rifle, named the "Eternal Eradicator"A .44 magnum strapped to his leg, which he calls "Strife" (he used to kill the raider with at 12.). Apperance: 6'2 Slim/lean, but pretty musclar (think Bruce Lee's body, but taller.) Fair skin complexion, long blonde hair (like my own real life, think mello from Death Note). He has a light red scar going down his left eye. Green eyes. Clean shaven.

History: Leon never knew his real parents, but was raised by his aunt and uncle until the age of 12 they lived on a very nice small house along Lake Michigan, but the happiness was soon shattered, when his aunt and uncle were killed right in front of his face by raiders. He then grabbed his uncles magnum from the hiding spot, and killed him. From there on he traveled Post-Apocalyptic Chicago learning and fighting for survival. Then at the age of 15 he joined the Shields (in hope to search for a meaning in his life..and to change humanity), becoming the youngest member..Now, age 18 he's a lieutenant, fighting the ongoing war.

Personality: Leon is quite mysterious, passionate, and intelligent. Also, nice to his friends and comrades..Mentally strong. I'd call him the Silent Warrior.

I hope this is ok..

((Well get started shall we.))

Early evening, the sun setting, the sound of gunfire and explosions were a common place. Khasar sat at his desk in the command tent, even though he wasn't assigned to do this, but the commander of the section of trenches outside had been fighting just two days ago and a mortar shell had exploded next to him, killing him outright. Khasar was now the highest ranking officer so he took command until a replacement was sent.

Well it was best at the moment, most of his squad had been killed in the previous mission they had done, leaving only himself and the Lieutenant. Khasar had been given replacements almost instantly afterwards, but he still had no idea of how they fared, though they must of done something to get themselves put in the squad. The companions, as their main commander had called them, were the best of the best in the Silver Shields, and were used to attack behind enemy lines and take out ammo dumps and other high priority targets.

Khasar looked out of the flap of his tent, seeing a mortar shell go off in the distance, they had been pounded for good part of a week now, a large assualt should come soon, he wouldn't mind if it wasn't the fire eater mercs, alot of their troops used flamethrowers, which in the trench warfare this battle had gone into.

The barrage had started to slow down now, only a few coming every few minutes, soon the attack would come, though at night was an odd time to do so, you would not be able to see where they were going. Khasar signed, and worked out the tent and looked into the distance, he was in the communications trench at the moment, as was the squad.

Khasar grabbed a whistle from around his neck.Placing the end in his lips, he blew it releaseing a drawn out high pitched sound, this was the whistle he used to form the squad and had got the lieutenant to teach the new recruits, hopefully, where ever they were in the trench, they should be here soon.

Henry walked out of his dugout and was careful not to show his head above the trench. An unlucky recruit had done so yesterday and met an unfortunate end. Henry walked along the trench, headed for the command ten and wondered how he had gotten here. He had been an officer of the Enclave, establishing good relations with ghouls and acquiring a GECK. What had that got him? It just so happen there was a sudden change in leadership and he had been cast aside. The mission to transform Ghouls and the slightly mutated wastelanders to normal was scrapped. Henry had been sent off to a small outpost in the middle of nowhere and was forgotten. The GECK was instead used to make a new presidential resort in New England for the new president. Henry had left the Enclave and made his living as a adviser to the various militant groups around the wastelands. Henry arrived in the command tent and said "Reporting as ordered Sir."

James walked out of his dugout and started walking in the direction of the whistle call. He thought, "I wonder what Khazar wants, it's probably a briefing for another mission." James arrived at the command center and said, "Reporting for duty, sir."

Ellie was just unpacking her few belongings next to her cot when she heard a whistle blow. It was a new feeling to her, being called like a dog, she hadn't been enlisted for over two months when she was transferred to a special assignment squad. Why they transferred someone with the rank of Private for was beyond her. The only logical explanation she could think of was that engineers were hard to come by. She sighed and left her things on her cot, except for her P90, she was told to never let her weapon out of her sight.

As Ellie entered the tent she noticed that she was the lowest rank of the squad. She felt embarrassment come over her as she blushed slightly.

"Re... Reporting for duty... Sir," Ellie fumbled with the words as she saluted her captain.

Khasar pushed down Ellie's hand and scowled at her, "No saluting in the field," khasar told her, snipers were a constant threat. Khasar looked at his squad, realising someone was missing, he sighed, once the upcoming battle was over, he will be put into confinement for two days.

"Okay, lets get this over with," Khasar said, "We are going to the forward trench, I suspect an attack coming soon." Khasar looked into the distance, it was now getting very dark and spotlights were coming on on both sides. "Just defend, no heroics, and obey my orders," Khasar told them, "You all should know the whistles."

Theo sat against the trench, facing back toward friendly territory. One knee was bent, and he was resting his arm on it. He listened to the sounds of mortars dropping in the distance. Farmer loved the sound of battle. He was dissapointed at being stuck in the special assignment squad. He'd much rather be out on the front lines with the rest of the Shields, the first line of defence against the other mercs. Any front would do. But no, they told him to hang back towards the middle and wait for orders. Theo had also been told about the whistle. That irked him more than anything else. The guy whistled, and he was supposed to go running like a lap dog. He had heard the sound, but ignored it. He wanted to make it clear that he had no interest in coming whenever there was a whistle. Farmer wondered if the new guy would demote him. He didn't much care. He had already gone from officer to Corporal. Theo didn't really have much to loose. As the quartermaster for the group, they couldn't turf him back to the front lines until they got a new guy, so Farmer was looking forward to giving the new captain hell.

Farmer sighed and stood. He figured he might as well show up. Theo wasn't going full-on direlection of duty, just a bit of insubordination. He picked up a helmet nearby and popped it on his head before hefting his SAW and the ammo box. He moved at a leisurely pace, keeping the helmet on and his head down until he reached the tent. Theo dropped the box outside and tossed the helmet aside, stooping a bit to step into the tent. He leaned the weapon against his shoulder. "You paged, master?" asked Farmer, mimicking the Mister Handy robots fairly well. Theo was good at thinking on his feet, and that carried over to conversation.

"Alright Captain sounds easy enough," Henry turned to the rest of the squad and said "Alright lets go!" Trench warfare was brutal and the best way to win was to use airpower or tanks. However that was only assuming the enemy did not have anti-tank or anti-aircraft guns. Henry took up a MG nest where he could defend the trench more effectively. "Keep your heads down guys and watch out for snipers!" On his way there he passed by a tent with Theo inside. "Hey! Hurry up and get over to the defensive line now!" Defending would be easy enough, Henry wished he had some more firepower such as a Vertibird or two. He knew that it wouldn't be easy anymore.

Theo glanced at Henry. "Listen G-man, I don't take orders from you." he said, poking him in the center of his chest. Farmer's attitude had gotten him in trouble with plenty higher-ups, but he had never been punished more than with a demotion. Theo was a big guy. He had started fights with plenty of other soldeirs, but he had finished every single one of them. He wasn't afraid of, nor would he listen to, Henry Jones, no matter what his rank was. He turned his head back to Khasar, watching from the corner of his eye in case Henry tried something. To Theo, Henry had a similar feeling to the Brotherhood guys, but different, more like Farmer figured the government would be like. He was fairly assured Jones would move on.

He then turned to the next guy who spoke to him. "I don't recall mentioning I hate anybody, expecially to you." he said with a nonchalant glance towards Leon. He didn't care he was a lieutenant. Theo was pretty sure the guy couldn't read minds. So far all he had done was imitate a mister gutsy and mouth off to Henry.

(OOC: Leon is above Theo, but he simply doesn't care. Hes been demoted several times for insubordination)

As Leon turned back to him to say something, Theo turned as well and faced him. He tossed the SAW towards the door. "I doubt you'd understand anything about me, seeing as I haven't met you until two minutes ago." he said, glaring at Leon. "I'll do whatever the hell I want, and I couldn't care less how fast the work gets done." Theo usually had a more passive aggresive state of mind, but he was a bit pissed today. He was purposefully being stubborn today, adding on top of being an ass. The man in front of him seemed like too much of a do-gooder, to the point of putting himself at risk. In Farmer's village, you only did that for fellow tribals and family, not the random guy on the street. "and Henry's experience probably entails slaughtering helpless people."

(Sqaud Automatic Weapon. Its a Big Gun from Fallout: Tactics. big old machine gun)

"Actually, the arrogant attitude is part of what we call confidence. It allows me to do things without slinking away with my tail between my legs." Theo said with a arrogant smile "Hopefully you won't have that problem out on the battlefield. And although your my superior in the chain of command, you aren't in anything else. Any of my prior commanding officers would attest to the point that I don't listen to [censored] they said." Farmer said, crossing his arms while maintaining the smirk "So, you would be blesssed for me to listen to any orders you gave. Follow them, is out of the question. And I only have to listen to you until I get turfed to the front lines."
