Modern Warfare 2 has only five (MP5K, UMP45, P90, Kriss Super V, UZI) and all of them are very different. (SMG player here.)

Mine was the Kriss because it was the most accurate compared to the others

Modern Warfare was the game that inspired my love for the P90 because of both its appearance and its performance. When I wanted stealth, a P90 with a silencer did wonders for me. It would be sweet to see one in BRINK, whether through a sequel or through DLC.

I'm not a huge fan of the Vector, but both H&K guns are also my favorites, especially the UMP45. Which is why a Galactic would be my SMG choice.

I prefer the P90; nice sized clip. small recoil, and good dmg

Vector all the way. I just love the way it looks, and that fire rate is nothing to sneeze at. Probably because it can empty it's entire magazine before you're finished sneezing.

As for silencers, I'd guess that since there are multiple different types available they have different effects on gun stats. Maybe one lowers damage slightly, and another lowers accuracy. Would be neat to have several different silencer options, eh?

Weird my bro prefers the UMP.

High power and accuracy isn't bad (that is if you're using .45 caliber rounds, like its name should suggest), but its firing rate isn't as good as the Vector or the P90. Plus, the P90 has virtually no recoil, and even when unsilenced its firing noise isn't that loud.

Not so sure about the Vector, but I guess its recoil compensation system would do a lot for recoil.

I was a knifer. If they're in SMG range, I like to cat-and-mouse into shanking position.

Yea silenced UMP. I figure its got a bit more range as well compared to other SMG', seen him get nice ranged kills for an SMG. Could be wrong, don't play it myself.

Suppressors rely on the fact that the ammo you are using is "subsonic" or slower than the speed of sound, which allows the suppressor to prevent the gasses from escaping and various other things to reduce the sound of the gunshot. if you are using supersonic rounds, the suppressor will help in reducing the sound but it is not going to do the same as subsonic rounds. Most people that I know online at another forum use pistol primers and different loads of powder to help reduce the velocity but keep the same amount of impact on target. The suppressor itself doesn't reduce the range of the weapon, but the ammo used does.

Suppressors on some guns can actually increase the accuracy on them.

I prefer all guns suppressed, in game and in real life. Guns have made lots of people deaf...

i agree with your bro then P90 has a 50 shot clip but it's just not powerful enough, ump is a 35 shot 45. it's pretty darned accurate and still lightweight. in short ITS SO AWESOME! :woot:

I played with the MP5K most of the time. Picked up the Super V just recently, because it has a better ROF. And as I always play them silenced, a high ROF makes it easier to put someone down quickly.
The Super V is basicly much better than the MP5K, too, because it has such a low recoil. But then I feel a little cheap using it and switch back to the MP5K. Or if I'm facing not so good players, I go pistol only.

Weird my bro prefers the UMP.

The UMP45 silenced is by far the best weapon in MW2. No recoil on consoles and very easy to control on PC paired with a ridiculously high damage.
