Silencers?

What would the silencer modify in the guns stats? Except for it being silent.

Maybe reduced range for the weapon.

Also, Reduced range also means less damage.

When you fire your weapon, it will reveal your position on the minimap - Silencers will probably counter this.

Well if it didn't, everyone would use a silencer. That would make it imbalanced.

Well, if everyone wanted to use a silencer, they would have to limit themselves to certain weapons, since every gun cannot use a silencer.

Oh yeah, that too. Silenced Grenade launcher, anyone?

Silencers would probably add less accuracy or range, also mabey more weight. And no, less range does not mean less damage, less range means less range.

In the game world it does simply to add ballance to the game plus less range does take damage away simply becouse as the bullet travels farther it gets slower and that means less damage.

Thats diffrent tho, if im at close range with a silencer it wont have reduced damage, and i dont think there adding stuff like bullet drop or range damage deduction.

It won't too much, since SD is.. once again, trying to balance things as much as possible. It won't change the stats by a large amount. But then again, who should be sitting in a corners staring at your radar? SD wants you to enjoy all those pretty colors for a reason.

People still had to decide wether they want to use a silencer or a muzze brake.

For a silencer to work properly, you can only have a certain amount of power in the rounds' proppelant.

I suspect then that a normal silencer would only work on small calibre weapons (smgs), but the silencer in "The Pscho" pre order pack would be able to work on more powerful weapons such as the assualt rifles.

The greeneye then, is probably a thermal thing for seeing enemies behind a very small amount of cover

Well, there is no bullet penetration, so if it was and if they could see them behind cover, they wouldn't be able to shoot them.

If Splash Damage is being as careful maintaining balance as they say they are, I doubt the Psycho and SpecOp packs contain any tools that are not available to everyone else too. Sure enough they sport a different name, but I'm putting my money on a simple remodel of another existing weapon / weapon mod. For example the Caesar would be the exact same weapon as pistolX, except that it would, instead of simply a different skin (as is the case with the Fallout and Doom packs), have a completely different weapon model. Same rules - basically, same weapon - but an even more different look.

After all, giving some players access to some weapons/mods everyone else is not entitled access to WOULD break balance. Still, that said, I think a green-dot lasersight would be harder to spot than a red-dot laser and actually DO give the owner an advantage... Oh well :\

+ Edit : Pfft, foolish me, took another look at the pack and it's a scope, not lasersight, so that's moot...

That's when you chuck a grenade over their cover.

Well, now we're here again..

ARE THE PRE-ORDER GUNS NEW GUNS, OR RE-MODELS? The question remains

We can safely assure that the silencers however are pure re-skins of the normal ones, yeah?

They are new guns, but only side arms. Don't worry, it wont throw off the balance.

Maybe in the same way that a plastic water bottle works as a silencer, but it works even better of you cut the bottom off of 3 water bottles and put them into a pringles can.

When was that the case? A soda can silencer would work, but not as well as an actual one, and it wouldn't be as durable either.

Tell that to the Psycho pre-order package....

I hope you guys realise that the guy isn't actually using a soda can as his silencer, right? If you look at the pics closely enough, you'll realize he has simply hidden his silencer inside a soda can (actually, a water can)...
