Silencers

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 1:33 am

As you may have noticed, the Soda Can/Ark Tactical silencer is an attachment that comes with the Psycho Pack. The Caesar revolver and Hockler machine pistol are both exclusive items. The Greeneye scope is supposedly just an early unlock that comes with the pack, but is this the case with the silencer. There is no concrete information pointing to the contrary. Do you think they could be so heartless as to leave out something as fundamental, especially for Operative characters, as a suppressor? I am not exactly a fan of exclusive pre-order stuff. It's a shameless ploy for drawing business.

There is a screen shot floating around here some where with a bolt action with a silencer on it.

The two confirmed silencers I know of are the ArkTactical silencer(Security) and the Soda Can silencer(Resistance). They both come exclusively in the Psycho preorder pack.

In a video containing a quick view of weapon customization, you can see footage of a carbine go from a silencer to a fore-grip. Not sure if they are mutually exclusive, as the video showed the silencer and the fore-grip but not both, but yeah. Silencers are in.

Definitely silencers. Even shotgun silencers, which despite my wild objections do exist. XD

You can have both: they take up two different Attachment slots. Silencers are Muzzle Attachments, while vertical foregrips are Bottom Attachments.

Which is why my shotty will be silencer free, i like the sound it makes, and it still will make a wonderfull mess if you get really close with a silencer on it :)

All pre-order items are exclusive and can not be unlocked.

However, there is a standard silencer and a standard EOTech Scope, too.

At 1:17 there a several examples of silencers.

I know that it is an old video but it shows that at the time they had developed more than one. :)

I dunno, using silent running and a silenced shotgun together could spell disaster for people who rely on the minimap too much. At the very least, running around like that should be very fun.

No if you have an ability which counters that.

That makes more sense. In the video, I thought it was labeled as, "front attachment".

Firing shot out of a silenced shotgun is a terrible idea. Firing sabot/slugs out of a silenced shotgun = much less terrible idea.

Because the noise it what makes the shotgun useful? Shotguns are meant for close combat, they pack a nice punch without the need for the same accuracy as a revolver or such. Tack on a silencer and maybe you lose a little range or spread in exchange for something that makes a little less noise.

Too bad it's either Bracket 4 or 5 to unlock.

@ OP- Everything but Gernade Launchers and Mini guns have silencers.

If I remember correctly, Silencers are barrel-end attachments and Forgrips are underbarrel attachments.
