Damn, I was so eager to play it. Konami and no one else involved on it gave explanations why they decided to cancel it.

Considering it's Konami, my guess is budget and finance problems forced them to shut it down.

I keep imagining how a company with so many great franchises can break.

Their legacies are arguably in the past. The fact that they immediately pulled their lifting off the NYSE is alarming and signifies they're either closing or downsizing their US Divisions to restructure corporate finances or they're planning to file for bankruptcy.

It was probably not even coming to PC so I wouldn't get to play it... but I was very disappointed with the news nevertheless. I know not everyone was a fan of the playable trailer, but I thought it looked pretty good.
