I was just thinkin that it'd be cool if this is in... If ya dunno what I'm talkin bout, chances are you's havn't played Batman Arkham Asylum or Splinter Cell: Conviction... Soo basiclly the idea is you stealthily sneak up behind sum1 without them or any1 else noticing, press a button and then presto... insta-kill... Mehbeh an animation of you snappin theguys neck or stabbin him or sumpin like that...

I know there are some screenies and that little bit in the trailer of sorta this, but I wasn't sure if that was just a finishing move... Hope it ain't...

EDIT: P.S. This is mah 1st thread ^_^

I would like to have a CHANCE of critical instakills against lower level enemies but not too often and definitely not at my free will (aka a special button for kills).

I think they said somewhere that there are animations for killing people specifically for close range stealth moves (provided you killed him in one hit). Don't really like the idea of any "insta-kills" in a HP & stat based game. Guaranteed crits or damage bonuses, maybe, but no "if you do this, target dies" stuff.

I dunno why but just sumpin bout that doesn't seem stealthy... maybe it's the whole, face 1st thing... like the baddy is facing the PC... but anyways yea that's cooly fooly

Agreed. This is an RPG and it's TES, not some dumb game for the masses like Batman.

"only if done correctly" is the most stupidly tautological thing to say in a debate. Obviously people only want things in the game if they're "done correctly" - the part we should be bloody discussing is how to implement them correctly if, indeed, we even want them in at all.

Funnily enough that's exactley what I was thinking when I was typing in that option, I nearly didn't put it in, but then I thought 'chances are peeps will say to add [that] option' so I put it in...

yes. like x10 damage is plenty. You should be able to "take out" most average enemies with a good enough weapon/skills, but i don't want to be able to sneak up behind Mannimarco and insta kill him.

Yeah, I agree 100%... Some NPC's should not be able to 1 hit K.O. them... But in some cases 10x would kill a boss npc... but yea

Of course I like the stealth kills with special animation like the ones in the trailer. I haven't played batman or Splinter Cell so I don't know how those work. All I can say is that I like what I saw in the trailer.

Now you're talking crazy. I'm fine with animations for it but any kind of auto kill is a no no. If a person has 90 hp and you one shot him because of a 10 damage attack with a x10 stealh multiplier (100 damage) then thats fine.

Of course, it doesn't show the rest of the sequence, where the depicted "x6 stealth crit bonus" has only taken half his hits off, and he turns and attacks. :whistling:


(in other words, there's the start of a dramatic animation sequence, but we've got no HUD, we've got no system messages, and we don't have the follow-through and end. Anything we get from that sequence is speculation. Other than the fact that there is a "slit throat" animation.)

I'm pretty sure the character will do a special execution animation only if the damage done will be enough to take down the enemy in one shot. Any attacks that fail to take down the enemy in one shot will not be given the special execution animation.
