Silgrad tower question

Post » Sat Sep 04, 2010 2:01 am

Anyone know if theres a way to run the game without the custom soundtrack? I tried but get the 'error not loading' message anytime I enter a town.

also a way to disable the silgrad tower loading screens.

these two points I feel let down this truly awesome mod.

Where are the music files located and when they activate?
Splash screens can be easily deleted from Splash directory inside your Data Files. :foodndrink:
edit: yep, typos.

so splash screens are the loading screens? I thought they were the thwack sound you get hitting the new enemies :S ok cool.

The music files are in a 'music' folder and activate when you enter a town.. though I tried removing them but just got an error message (continue yes/no) the original MW soundtrack is just fine.. I prefer continuity.

Well, I presume there is a script, that would have to be removed.

I suppose you could just overwrite the ST soundtrack files with music files of your preference.

FYI: substituting in the original MW music tracks is probably not going to work well if the ST music files are scripted - the track length is usually hard coded into the script, so you'll end up with music ending abruptly or long silence between tracks. Unless you're Ok with that, an adjustment to the scripts is likely necessary.

Here's your music script:

sltw_za_silgradmusic_sc

It's a global, so it runs all the time and triggers when you enter any of the towns listed within. Deleting it outright SHOULD have no ill effects as I recall (make a backup first, though). Deleting it means you won't get any special music when you enter a town.

If you prefer, you can change the songs in your Music\Silgrad folder and make the corresponding changes in the script so you can have your own custom music when you enter any of the towns.
