Silly questions you'd ask the developers?

Post » Thu Mar 25, 2010 12:58 pm

I had a kid character doing some travelling the other day. Decided to follow them. I'm fairly sure the kid intentionally went off route in order to run through Raider dens, Radscorpion spawn points, hostile NPC areas, Deathclaw spawn points and Super Mutant infested areas. Then I thought about a group in a temple that I also followed on their travels and the bizarre route they took.

Got me to wondering if the developers had intentionally given absurd routes to characters that you aren't really meant to follow?

What weirdness would you like to inquire about?

YES... I Wondered The Same Thing. Then, I Thought A Bit More.
The People Out There in The Wasteland Have Little Food and Water.
They Also Run Around All Day and Fight For Survival.
So.. I'm Guessing They Are Just Starving and Exercising and As a Result... Have Little Body Fat?
But Then Again I Think I'm Just Making An Excuse To Solve The Question

Starving? They have TONS of food! All those merchants with a never-ending supply of squirl bits, squirl stew, squirl on a stick, iguana bits, iguana on a stick, mirlurk cakes, noodles, mutfruit. Then you have all the boxes of pre-war food in buildings that haven't decomposed after 200 years or looted, and you have plenty of Wasteland Critters with meat on their bones like Brahmin, Dogs, Molerats, Giant Insects, Mirelurk, etc.

I'd say the Wastelanders eat pretty well, even if the food is all irradiated they still have RadAway to get rid of those pesky rads. :P

Why are we not told what the patches fix when one comes?

Did Colonel Autumn survive, if you spared him at the end?

Two questions that trouble me :(

It is said in Fallout 2 that cats were eaten as they were easy prey.

I don't think that dogs would outlive cats in post-apocalyptia, but that's how it went in Fallout.

I agree. I have a one year old Lilac Point Siamese cat. I dare say, from experience, that cats are NOT easy prey...
Felines are the least domesticated of any "domestic" animals... with swine being a very close second.
Plus, they are predators, not prey. They are pretty much the top of their own little private food chain.

On topic:
My question would be; Why do super mutants wear pants? They are genderless...

My question is: Why is it so hard for the user to add their own music to the game? There's no copyright harm to come to the game publisher if they slip a user track station into the game somehow. The user supplies their own music for said station, after all.

How's about: "Are Flak and Shrapnel like... uhhh... well, you know... husband and husband?" (No anti-gay prejudice intended, I have friends who are gay)

And maybe: "How come that weiner in Megaton keeps worshiping the bomb after you disarm it?"

And why can't you pick them up?

Always thought the Enclave should come in earlier and without the aggression. They'd only accept Pre-war money, not silly bottle caps.

Like Atom's gonna be stopped by a simple removal of a few parts.

In the vault 101, why does the vault dweller drink from the toilet?

Also in the vault... When dad gives you the BB gun and says to thank Jonas; why are you not punished if you shoot him with the BB gun (or Dad?)
**Why does dad give you more BB's after you've run out ~due to using them all on him?
I must have gone through three boxes on them both.
 I found it odd.

The toilet paper ran out years ago (I've not seen any yet, to loot); 200 y.o. greenbacks are relatively soft and absorbent. Explains why fire and water-damaged books are worth a little money, too.
