Simple MOD request

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2009 6:02 am

My request for a MOD is for someone to fix it where you are buying/selling with an NPC and anything that is over a quantity of "6" you are prompted in a mini window "how many" of this object you would like to buy/sell. That is fine how it is, what I don't like however is when you hit accept your mouse cursor returns to the middle of the screen, I personally find this very annoying, to have to keep readjusting my mouse when buying/selling anything over 6 of that item at once.

I can't think of a way to change this.

There was an Oblivion mod that let you configure how the looting screen worked, not in regards to mouse positioning but the "how many?" prompt in general. I always found it much easier to have click == take one, shift-click == take stack (no prompt) and ctrl-click == show prompt. Dunno if it used OBSE, but this would be fair enough fix for this issue since it's rare that you actually want to split a stack.

Would be nice for other things too. Personally I can't count the number of times I was storing ammo or ammo parts in my safe by clicking them and hitting "A" to accept the prompt when I came across one with <6 and ended up doing "take all" on my safe (2000 units of guns and crap? If hardcoe was programmed right I would have died instantly ;P)

Yea you cant actually get rid of that window or do much to it. I believe its hardcoded into the game.

This requires a script extender so we all have to wait until NVSE is ready. It can be done; it was done on Oblivion and FO3 to where holding a specific key would sell all, even if it was lower than 6 (which by default moves over 1 at a time) while another held hotkey would move 1 at a time if it was over 6.

I am looking forward to NVSE ironing all the annoyances out of this game.
