Well, there's http://media.pcgamer.com/files/2011/02/The-Elder-Scrolls-V-Skyrim-One-in-Each-Hand.jpg from one of the previews. And yeah, I want some proper mounted combat. Slashing at enemies with a dagger or shortsword from atop a horse doesn't exactly sound realistic, but it'd be nice if you could just shoot arrows Mongol-style or stick a lance out and run through your enemies.

Uh, I see a lot more thrusting and stabbing than I see slashing and cutting, and besides, that's a knife, they are more meant for slashing/cutting than a dagger is, but can be used to stab as well.

So you can have a polearm in each hand? That would seem awkward.

I agree, no. If they're going to do spears, they need to do them properly, meaning just as well developed and viable as other weapon types, with perks and a combat style that suits them. What's the point of adding spears if they're just going to do a half hearted implementation of them? People will then just complain that spears weren't done well and won't want to use them because they're not good, making the implementation of them a waste of time.
