Simpsons and Falllout 3

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 12:26 am

Hi tghe other day I watched a Simpson episode and it ended with a clear reference to Fallout 3 and its main song theme ..... or is the reverse? Falllout 3 quoting Simposns? I found it very hilarous anyway lol....

from wikipedia :
I dont want to set the world on fire song ...
# The song is considered the de facto theme song of the Fallout (series) of post-apocalyptic video games
# It was also used in an post-apocalyptic themed episode of The Simpsons,

The Episode should be the

Season 18 Episode 382 - "Treehouse of Horror XVII"

or

episode 17 of season 17 threehouse of horror XVII

Such things are sure possible many cartoons like the Simpsons (family guy, dads army, south park etc), have references to games, but like Pistol says we need more information

Sort of off topic but, does anyone miss the older Simpsons? You know, when it was actually FUNNY?!

I think whoever put the song there thought about Fallout, but thats nothing new about referring to something in Simpsons. Remember the WoW episode of South Park?

They weren't referencing Fallout 3 directly, just the SONG. <_<
That song has been around since the 50s.
And that wikipedia quote is incorrect. It is NOT the theme song to the Fallout series, just Fallout 3.

But the scenery with the devastated city combined withthe music to me seemed a sort of quotation from Falllout 3 ....

Yeah that's reaching. Listen to the words of the song, probably why they chose it ? Probably a coincidence that they had the same thought as the designers in FO1, who didn't manage to get the song.
