Sims + The Elder Scrolls = Complete?

Post » Wed May 18, 2011 7:44 pm

If you take parts of the social life in Sims 3 for example;
- Marriage, kids, dating, jealousy, NPCs trying to murder you because your sleeping with his wife and he caught you in the act or kissing.
- Friends, cats and dog
- Decorating your house
And much more..

Then inject that into the world of Skyrim? Wouldn't that be perfect?

I don't know if its possible thru modding but... YEAH!

What is your opinion? Would you want a mod like that for Skyrim?

the first bulletin is a definite no. that stuff just doesnt fit the feel of tes games at all
i think 'friends' are confirmed, and it would be cool to have pets to hunt with and id love to see a wolf or snow cat lounging around my house
decorating will most likely be in and strongly revamped from oblivion

"Perfect" isn't precisely the term I'd use.

This isn't entirely the case. Lot's of people would be angry if there weren't little "immersive" elements that the player could do besides quests.

Fishing
Buying homes
Being a farmer
Owning a business
etc.

All these things have been brought up in the past with generally positive feedback. So a lot of people are nuts about immersion, but they also tend to be picky about it too (as this thread has shown).

Fishing and homes make sense, but being a farmer and owning a business are not good ideas. It cost money to maintain those things and it would just be much easier to get a job. Also it would be pretty stupid if your character opened the door for 15 minutes then left for 2 weeks because he/she had to go fight some dragons. Same thing with crops, they'll die away after a while and probably while your doing something important.

You asked for marriage, relationships, and kids? I would only except Marriage if when you marry the game stops and a screen pops up saying game over.

I said as EXAMPLES.
Are you going to take some parts I'd what I've written and take it out of context?
You should know better, stop tolling. Also in my opinion matter of the example of marriage is that you could have a woman or a man, anyone, you see its been done in the Fable series even tho its not my favorite game, a such option ONLY strengthen your connection to the RPG.. read... Rpg world of Skyrim...

... Because that's what he clearly did... If I said "ooh look, there are 'time stop' spells in fable, i'd like to see that in Elder Scrolls," how is that a comparison?

"Oh look, Elder Scrolls and Fable both have swords!" --> Clearly I am comparing the two games and I am not a "true fan."

I agree with you though, that TES should NOT EMULATE fable.

But let's not make the mistake of refusing to draw inspiration from elsewhere. Even horrible games can have notable aspects to them.

You people aren't getting it! It doesn't have to be a six-fest. Relationships don't have to be like sims. I agree that kids is a stupid idea...but RELATIONSHIPS will not stop you from being "heroes"! Open your minds to the idea; it's a good one. And I'll bet Bethesda had thought of it until the community flamed the idea of relationships.
And stop harassing Jacob just because he has a social life.

This is why.. I will stop now, too many people here with the mind of a kid. You write 10 pages and mention Harry Potter ONE TIME, they will reply to Harry Potter THAT has nothing to do with the POINT. Such a waste, the end.

when one horrible game is raised in comparison to a great one it'll make people mad.

but that's what it'll turn into. some morons will come in here saying why can't we have six in skyrim? you said we could do anything! leading to a very graphic TES VI

and thats just stupid.

and if someone wants a relationship they should stop playing games and talk to a girl/guy!

I'm okay with some things like six, homes, and pets. But other things just should be there. For instance: Having a child. It takes about 9 months for them to be born and what kind of father is never with his child because hes busy saving the world. I'm not completely disagreeing with Jacob, I'm just saying some of his ideas might have some downsides.

How the [censored] did I compare? I had to mention one RPG game that had marriage as some duck clearly could not.wrap.his.duck head around the idea.

Now I am leaving this thread because too many people are flaming, they are only writing down useless piss in reply as if its a war. This forum isn't the same and I doubt to read anything fun and interesting on the way out. People here only want to pick out things and wave a war, not a open minded discussion for those who was INTERESTED. Not for those who just want to take a [censored] piss on you.

I was saying he is the only one who likes the idea of socialism. I'm sure we all have social lives excluding the odd goth. Let's not start a flame war here.

I smell quite a few PM's being sent here and maybe even a topic lock; but the bottom line is that I don't think any of us are asking for any sims type or fable type of relationships, and there's no need to flame. I'm on Jacob's side.

You asked for opinions and most of the people answered no. So you can't get pissed that most people disagree with your idea and that it wont be implemented into the game (well somethings might).

Sorry if our post offended you but most of us are expressing our opinions. Just try not to mention fable. Besides not everyone is saying that your an idiot for suggesting these ideas, we just don't like them.

I'm still trying to figure out why you would want a virtual relationship. What could marriage possibly add to the game beyond its initial novelty? Your spouse would just be another NPC talking idly about random crap. Eventually they become a decoration for your house. After that, they're annoying -- and after that they're dead. As for children . . . well, making them has no place in this game, and even then most games generally don't even last the nine months it would take to give birth to a child. When somebody has something I want I murder them and take it, and and the only reason somebody would be coming after me is 'cause I just finished killing their entire family ( minus children of course . . .)

Friends has already been kind of implemented if the article's I've seen are anything to go by. If their disposition is high enough they won't care if you barge into your house in the middle of the night! Wouldn't be against pets either.

Decorating is already possible -- to a limited extent -- when you use available shelves for your own fancy gear :D

Can we please try to stay on topic people? Don't insult Jacob, don't call the members who disagree with Jacob idiots who go with the crowd and let's discuss if we want the options to do things that were said in the original post.

I only like a few of the things discussed and I'm definitely saying "NO" to being a parent.

Ok how about when you are that level 50 ultimate warrior and you've saved the day from evil and you have done most side quests and content and you are just sitting in you're castle bored as hell wishing you could have some sort of immersion/ realism type of activity that can pass the time besides creating a new character.

You cant tell me you havent spammed jump around market dristrict bored with nothing to do( and this is for console gamers of course pc can have w-e they want)
