Since TES V: Skyrim takes place in... Skyrim...

After this, we're left with Hammerfell and Black Marsh as what I consider " Major " areas of Tamriel, then that only leaves the smaller areas, Valenwood, Elsweyr, High Rock etc.

So do you think we can sort of guess where the next in the series may take place? Or can Bethesda just take the smaller areas and transform them into larger areas in game?

Well if you look at vvardenfell, it's actually around the same size as Elsweyr, so i'm sure they could come up with good games in those provinces, if morrowind is any example.

It means they won't be set in Skyrim.

Each area has plenty of story to tell.

Also... Summerset? I'd be willing to bet that's the next place. Can't wait to see Artaeum. :D

High Rock was also pretty well covered by Daggerfall.

Territories have changed in the last 200 years. Also, it can seem huge if they decorate the landscape well enough with dungeons towns and buildings.

This. It's all relative to what the developers want to do. I mean, there is no way in a video game we could ever have a "true" accurate version of a province size wise.

It can take place anywhere, and they can scale it up to any size they please.

Next place will probably be Summerset or Black Marsh.

Summerset Isle seems to be very popular so that's definitely a good guess. Also, they already did part of Hammerfell and High Rock in Daggerfall. That said, i certainly don't hope that this will mean that we won't see them in future games. Especialy Hammerfell could be rather interesting if you ask me.

I'm going to have to go with Hammerfell or Summerset Isles and after we run out of places in Tamriel we will go to another Province

summerset, highrock, or the place where the redguards are from, i know they did a redguard game but i dont put that in the same category as daggerfall, morrowind and oblivion.

doing black marsh or elswyr would just be stupid. if i want to have a conversation with a cat i just start talking to my cat chloe. i could also get the same game experience for alot cheaper if i just bought animal crossing for DS.

the one place i really really want to see is akavir since it looks like its more of an eastern atmosphere.

Id rather have Valenwood Elsweyr and Black marsh then hammerfell. And wasn't daggerfall in High Rock?

And don't forget Summerset Isle. I want mah summerset....

Unless Zenimax gets bought out by Activision we won't be running out of provinces or games in them, though if I were to guess the next one Oblivion hinted at trouble in Blackmarsh and the Summerset Isles. It also hinted at Skyrim so those two could just be to throw us off and have the next game set in Valenwood, who knows.

How the heck do you figure High Rock, Elsweyr and Valenwood to be in any way minor?

Parts of Skyrim have been done before, too. Arena for starters, as well as parts of Shadowkey. Incidentally, Hammerfell has been in four games: Arena, Daggerfall, Redguard and Shadowkey again.
Just because a province has been done, doesn't mean it's off-limits.

The Infernal City has set the stage for some interesting stuff to be done with Black Marsh and mainland Morrowind.

But as far as untouched provinces go (let's take Arena and the novel off the table for a moment), there's Summerset Isle, Valenwood, Elsweyr and Black Marsh.

Summerset Isle strikes me as a likely location for the next game after Skyrim, as there's the potential for it to include not only the two main Summerset isles, but also Thras, Pyandonea and/or Artaeum.

Well, it's not part of Tamriel, for starters. If it was some kind of standalone DLC, then sure, I could dig it, but when there's still so much of the actual empire left to develop, why bother making an entire game in Akavir?

Exactly, I honestly wouldn't mind going back to Morrowind, or even Vvardenfell and see what it's like now, it was always my favourite environment in TES anyway.

Why not Valenwood?

The best way to describe Valenwood is in A Pocket Guide to the Empire, which describes it as "A sea of endless green, a maze of foliage with half-hidden cities growing like blooms from a flower, the home of the Bosmer is Tamriel's garden."[1] One unusual feature of Valenwood is its gigantic, migratory trees that can contain entire cities. Falinesti in particular is a mile-high tree holding an entire city in its branches that was described in A Dance in Fire. Falinesti used to migrate south in the winter, but it has recently stopped walking for unknown reasons.

The city not moving could be a new prophecy in a new elder scroll.

For a smaller province all they would need to do is adjust the scale. Vvardenfell is smaller than Cyrodiil lore-wise, but Morrowind's game worl was HUGE compared to Obliv's.
